Thanks, I'm certainly not rushing over there just because they try to scare me. Should've asked her the relative risks of PPH compared to me having an allergic reaction to the IV, see if she could quote me any figures.

Apologies for butting in but it is ok to take iron isn't it? I have ben on it every day for almost 3 months. Think the dose they give me is about two hundred and something a day

Normally I'm quite good, but got out the shower, told OH I didn't feel great and was going to lay down for a little bit, woke up, it was twenty past 7 and you've to be there for 6.45. Hair was half dried, half wet and because I hadn't got dressed milk had leaked and is now stuck to my skin, nice!

Oh yes, taking iron is fine, I take Spatone iron myself. What I'm refusing is a trip to the local hospital so they can stick an IV in and drip iron straight into a vein. Which seems to have a higher risk of allergic reactions if you have asthma or eczema, both of which I have or have had.

By the way, been thinking about music while in labour, not something I had last time, but thought it might help to pass the time. Would I want a player that has headphones do you think, or one with a speaker. I thought headphones might be impractical and antisocial, are you allowed one with a speaker?

    Congratulations Chucknorris!

........ I am presuming you mean that you have been prescribed by your gp if so then thats fine , some dont get on with tablets so are reluctant taking them, there also seems to be differing opinion on what level a pregnant womens iron should be, hence some people dont want tablets/ infusions whatever.

I personally use spatone and am going to top up with iron tablets on the odd day I choose to not take spatone. I am just trying to raise my levels a litlle. This is a personal choice for me as I do not tolerate iron tablets well so this was a compromise with gp. My level is 10.3 at 34 wks previiously 10.4 4 weeks ago and hence trying to up a bit with odd tablet. according to gp am mildly anaemic as below 10.5 at 34 weeks.
