Urghh. Whats happening to me? DH and i decided to drive to a farmers market near where i used to live. Meant leaving the house at 8.30am, but that was fine. Had a waddle around, but i was moving sooooo slowly and the pressure down low was so heavy and uncomfortable that we didnt go far. Got home about 10.30, had chocolate twist for late brekkie, and then ws sooooo tired had to go back to bed. Woke up about 14.30! Now i can hardly move. My legs, pelvis, hips, lower back are so stiff and hurty feeling i can hardly move. Meant to be attacking outstanding jobs today, and i just can't do anything, and lord knows how i'll cope going out for dinner tonight at some friends house.

I'[m upping my raspberry leaf tea and EPO as of today, in the probably vain hope i can soften up by tuesday, and try and persuade the M/w to give me a 38w sweep!

oh and why do the midwives ask if you have any swelling? my ankle is huge really swollen but i dont want to go into the hospital if it was in the week i would have phoned them. should i be worried? Baby is moving loads so not worried about baby

Lirin is right, sudden and extreme swelling is a potential sign of Pre eclampsia, hence why the keep an eye on it. Some regular/constant swelling on feet/ankles is fairly normal, but if they suddenly puff up out of nowhere, and especially if your hands/fingers and face also swell up alot, then that is more of a worry. If you get headaches, dizziness etc as well, then you are supposed to call immediately anytime.

i just phoned and explained that my right foot and ankle is swollen and feels watery and puffy (it is actually really gross and i don't like it) she said that if i have no other symptoms then not to worry just to keep an eye on it.

Good to have checked it out with the mw. Are you able/likely to see your oh today? If so, see if you can get a foot massage. My feet have been puffy for weeks, and s good massage from dh really seems to help drain them down.

Jenjade....The hospital in which i had all 3 girls supplied you with the milk if you couldnt breastfeed, or even if you chose not to. The hospital I am under now, doesnt supply it, you are expected to bring your own in. I`ve been told they will give you the milk if you dont have it, but make you almost beg for it :( so I am going to take my own in anyway, these are the ones you are asked to bring... http://www.boots.com/en/SMA-1-First-Infant-Milk-from-Birth-Breast-Milk-Substitute-12-x-100ml-Starter-Pack_955186/
The same as the hospital would give you anyway. hth xx

Jen because of my diabetes I have been warned to keep a close eye for swelling of ankles, if accompanied by sudden facial and hand swelling or headache to go straight to hospital as thats a major indicator of pre eclampsia, xxx

That's just what I have been advised, your area may be different, also our health trust only supplies baby milk for only for a feed or 2 they expect us to take in our own xxxx

  • When I had PE with DD1 I swelled everywhere, you could push your finger into my ankles, legs etc and leave a big hole that slowly filled..it was gross. My eyes virtually swelled shut and my rings were cut off so keep an eye on that leg hun xx

Well hubby went out last night on his works do and TOTALLY surprised me by texting every hour or more, pre booking a taxi and arriving home SOBER and on time before midnight:eek::eek: I nearly fell over when he walked(not staggered) in:p
Then my mum totally peed me off because I gave her £20 in an envelope a couple of weeks ago incase I went into labour and needed her here to watch the kids. She called earlier to say hi,I mentioned the pains were increasing and she said "oh you don't think it'll be tonight do you, only I spent that £20 on bingo on friday and was planning on replacing it on monday" what THE !£*% DHs parents last called on 6th oct when I was still on the maternity ward in prem labour,my dad is AWOL and my mum spent emergency cash on bingo..I give up!!!!
Feel like turning up on delivery suite with the three kids,a load of sandwiches, three DS' a stack of colouring and camp beds so we don't have to ask anyone for help..GRRRR.
    There rant over:rotfl:
Slightly mad mummy to four kidlets aged 4 months,6,7 and 8 :D:D:D xx

We probably will, although OH will be going off his head, had a look in the shop today and his face at the price tag. Does it sit comfortably over the handlebar thing?

We've got it on smallest strap length and it sits lovely.

Been feeling rubbish today. So got up and did kitchen and mopped the floors, then its been an afternoon on the sofa with Xmas films for us :)

Don't know what to do for tea today. Might be takeaway at this rate lol.

With regards to puffiness, midwifes in this area always check my ankles and calves at appointments, but theyve always been fine. Have been told just to rest feet up as much as i can if they do get puffy though... X
