I`ve got this one for downstairs, and am just about to order this one for upstairs! (figure the towel liner will be better for night changes, rather than laying lil man straight on the freezing mat!)

Could you even rest it on a pillow? It's usually advised to reduce swelling to raise it above the level of your heart- mine swell occasionally at times as well, though nowhere near yours. I've found at nights it sometimes helps my hips to lie on my back with a pillow under the worst leg.....
Did get up. The Force failed, so did asking my two grumpy and sleepy mutts to fetch. They've been allowed sofa rights and are very unwilling to move in case they're thrown off....0 -
Bloody went for a nap, and the heating clicked off, woke up freezing and couldn't work out why! Pregnancy has addled my brains beyond repair I fear. I hate winter!!!The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Have got a few bottles and a couple of cartons as a fallback, if needed OH can pop back and pick them up (only 5 mins away from hosp).
Oh and I never had a BFing pillow, but I think it would have been more useful for the first 6 weeks then I probably wouldn't have used one anyway. I did use cushions and pillows for support in the early days. You must learn how to BF lying down. I didn't 'learn' this until DD was about 4/5 months old and it's really nice.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Okay so may get one if I can get it cheap enough, even if it helps for the first few weeks, anything that can potentially help I'm all for. Plus our cushions are a bit thin and pathetic :rotfl:The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Really glad your scan gave you a good result Rebekkah.
I think I've been having really painful heartburn for the last 3 days, but I can't be sure as I've never had it before. Very strong pain in the base of my breastbone, sometimes feeling like it spreads almost like spider legs across my chest. No burning or acid in my throat though. Does this sound like heartburn and if so can anyone recommend how to stop it?
Nausea is well and truely back today as well, I thought I was past this.
Has anyone been exercising during pregnancy? I did a lot of running on the cross trainer, and circuit training before pregnancy, but I've felt so tired and sick for the last 3 months I've done nothing. I'd like to get back into something, but I'm not sure what to do. There is a pilates class in town, or a aqua-natal a few towns over that I'm considering.
Went and got our tree todayIt's lovely and bushy, not decorated yet as I haven't felt up to it. Hopefully we'll get that done tomorrow after church, before going over to my grandads to decorate his tree for him. Intensive tree decorating day.
4nnabella, I think under UK law they can't take your holiday off you, they either have to pay you or roll it over for when you return to work.
Been offered a loan/free gift/first refusal of several baby items in the last week, so hope we should be able to get away without buying everything. I am completely baffled by car seats/travel systems. I don't know what to look for and where to start. I'd rather decide what we want early on so I can try to find good prices over the next 5 months.
Got my first maternity bra this week. M&S were USELESS - they only do 2 maternity bras and one of those is underwired. She started me off in a 38B which honest to God had 2 inches between my nipples and the padded cup. She said growing room was a good idea... I gave her the bra back. I didn't like it when my school jumpers had growing room but I like it even less in supportive undies! She then gave me a whole array of other sizes, ending up at a 34D (more realistic as I was a 32DD pre-pg) but I didn't find their one non-wired one comfy so I went to mamas and papas who told me despite beng a very large store they don't do underwear through the store, try the website, and eventually mothercare, who are my new best friends, as they were so friendly and realistic, and my pack of 2 bras was only £12.50 so I can afford to buy new ones rather than have unsupportive ones with 'growing room'!
The breastfeeding chat has made me laugh. In my booking in appointment I was asked 'how do you plan to feed the baby' to which I replied, not thinking twice 'I hope to breastfeed'. My God, I might as well have said I hope not to drop the baby on its head! Apparently hope is no good, I must be certain I will succeed and not accept defeat. She scared me.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

R.e the travel systems, we went around what seemed like a million shops looking for what we wanted, but I'm glad we did as I don't regret my decision at all, which is just aswell really
Don't be afraid to ask the assistant to take it apart, put it back together, give it a push, try and fold it up/down whatever you want to do, they aren't cheap and you want to be sure
On another note, sitting on my ball and all I can feel is pressure, it's horrible!!!The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Sounds like it could be heartburn, Dinah. The tablets with Ranitidine in them are good, either Zantac or Boots do their own version. Rennie, and other similar 'chalky' ones that you chew don't really do much for me, but people find different ones work better than others.
Thanks for the tip re my holiday. I know my company's policy is that generally they don't allow you to carry over more than five days each year (and even those can be at your manager's discretion). If the rules are different for maternity reasons then I shall look into it. My manager did mention to me the other day, just to make sure I knew, that something they do, but don't really shout about, is if I want any of my holiday from next financial year paid instead of taking the holiday, then they do do that for women coming back to work from maternity leave. Which is good... I'm going to talk to my manager on Monday about potentially finishing a bit earlier than planned, so will see how that goes...:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0
