I am really hoping to breastfeed. I fed DD1 for 9 months with no issues. My boobs have actually got smaller throughout the pregnancy where as last time they were huge and leaked loads. I did mention it to the midwife but she didnt seem interested.
Has anyone elses boobs got smaller? I think i have gone from a D cup down to a B cup. I am hoping they change this week but i have been hoping that for weeks. Also has anyone else not leaked at all and due very soon?
I would check with your Midwife as all hospital are prob different. I asked my midwife as i plan to breastfeed and scared that i will struggle when i'm in hospital and she said they have ready made bottles.0 -
In our NCT breastfeeding session, I asked about the fact that your milk doesn't "come in" for a few days after you've given birth and whether the baby would go hungry until then. She said that the baby only needs colustrum for the first few days and that nature knows what it's doing in terms of getting your milk ready just after that. Plus theire little tummies are only the size of a marble initially so they really need very very little. My friend was asked to express 2ml which was sufficient for a feed!
ETA: This link from the NCT website has loads of info re feeding: http://www.nct.org.uk/parenting/feeding0 -
Thanks BM that is very reassuring. It should all be fine i breastfed last time i am just hormonal and worrying about everything!
I am setting up babies room todat. but it is not how i want it. There is a huge wardrobe in there and i don't like it. i loved it when it was in my room but with the rooms divided it is just to big for either room. It is going to have to go!:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

I was due yesterday and have had no leaking milk issues, boobs are bigger and I can squeeze a tiny drop out if I really try (gotta try these things!) but assuming it'll all just sort itself out when it's necessary. Have got a few bottles and a couple of cartons as a fallback, if needed OH can pop back and pick them up (only 5 mins away from hosp).
My prediction of her coming out over the weekend seems to be getting less likely; have been bouncing on my ball as much as I can and getting some sore feelings in the pelvic region but nothing that seems useful. Oh well, keep on waiting I guess!Little lady arrived 13/12/110 -

I was due two days ago, and like yummy, I've just assumed that milk etc will sort itself out when baby comes- if that ever happens! No leaking, nothing, and I'm a few cupsizes bigger than pre-preg. Bra discussion- due to my size, I'm wearing underwired, purely because non-underwired are desperate to find in my size.
Never even enquired if my hosp will supply formula if bf'ing doesn't work- we live 2 mins away, and there's a huge Asda and Tesco nearby.
Bumpmakesfour- you've the same induction date as me!0 -
oh thanks everyone i feel reassured now!

I think that's maybe to assess risks of high blood pressure or pre-eclampsia (?).... Midwife did explain to me, I wasn't really listening at the time.0
