Oh you don't worry LOL. I wil be making use of it later and finishing sorting out the cupboards in the spare room. That needs sorting for the in laws to stay in over christmas. That is my main priority.:)0

b*gger, thought as much! They do have a veggie option but it's on a different set menu and I'm wary about causing too much of a palaver, especially as my colleagues know how much I love meat and cheese!
Thanks for the congrats, it's very nice to be here
Maybe you could call the restaurant yourself to explain the situation and ask if you can swap? Feels like making less of a fuss that way perhaps? I did that for a celebration meal, and the restaurant were very helpful.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Hi Colli.
Couldn't you cry off the dinner with an upset stomach, family emergency or something, unless you really want to go? Would probably be easiest, as they'll guess anyway.....0 -
Hi ladies, can I join you. I had my 12 week scan yesterday and everything was great, baby was kicking away like a mad thing, turning somersaults and generally being an active little mite. DH got all teary and since then has spent most of his time just staring at the scan picture. I have my next scan on February 1st (my birthday) so hope everything goes well as it will be a great birthday present.
I've had a few issues so far with my blood pressure going through the roof in week 5/6, so I'm on medication to try to keep that down (but it's still rising) so I'm on 4 weekly consultant appointments and weekly midwife checks. After 20 weeks I'll also be on 4 weekly scans to check the baby's growth - lots of chances to see our little one at least.

Colli - congrats! As the other ladies said, those meats are to be avoided, so I'd maybe ring ahead and ask for a veggie starter option. Veggie would probably also be safer for your main too, as pink meats (i.e. medium steaks) aren't recommended. Just tell your colleagues that you didn't fancy those "fancy meats" :rotfl:
thank you twigpg. I've got a job where I get to eat out quite a lot and unfortunately all my colleagues know I'm usually the first one in there with the fancy meats! :rotfl:
It's quite a posh place so I'm going to hope for a tiny portion I can push to the side and hide with a napkin. Will serve me right for feeling so smug about having such a great not drinking excuse (boiler has died so genuinely can't afford the £50 taxi trip home)0 -

Welcome Dinah/Kaemi!! Another familiar face from the TTC thread, Congrats!!
Hope your BP issues settle down for you.. Sounds silly, but might be worth getting a birth hypnotherapy CD course and starting it asap. I have certainly found it to have a very relaxing effect, and anything that can potentially help keep your BP stable is a good thing (obv a medical issue, is a medical issue, not saying you have much control over that!)Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Might be easiest, I'm not too fussed on going really. Think I'll wait and see how I feel on the day. If MS has kicked in by then I could probably pull off a very convincing stomach bug in the office :rotfl:0 -
Im starting to get very nervous and i dont know why. dont know if its nesting (sudden urge to catch up on the washing and ironing) or nerves kicking in. im being induced next monday and am hoping they bring it forward as im done with this pregnancy lark. my bump seems to have gone pop overnight and is HUGE and baby is still measuring big. 7lbs 8oz last week at 36+5 so god knows what its measuring today.
On one hand I want baby out so i can get on with things but on the other i think im more nervous about knowing that next monday things are being started off wether im ready or not. everything baby wise in the house is ready, just a few bits need doing like the spare bed making and our bed being changed.
I really think its the knowing that there is going to be an actual baby here within the next week thats scaring the carp out of me, DH is seriously un prepared and hasnt read any baby books or anything and seems to expect me to know it all. He seems to be thinking as well that cause im planing on breast feeding theres nothing for him to do and he can carry on the way he has been. Every night so far he has had at least 1 drink, ok thats normal for us when he is home but id have liked him to stop totally rather than be hungover to heck this morning so much so that i have to drive to hospital as he isnt safe to drive  so que me being in absolute agony later on but that doesnt seem to cross his mind at all yet he knows me driving means i wont be able to move later.
i suppose really that im just needing a good moan and knowing that im not the only one feeling scared about it all.0 -
Congratulations Dinah93 and welcome :j0

Have you had problems with your bp before pregnancy?
I normally have problems with mine pregnant or not-so have also had a LOT of midwife and consultant appointments, along with extra scans too.
Hopefully you'll get the balance right with the meds soon-and it'll be less worrying. Mine has been more stable during this pregnancy then my last-i think because i am more relaxed about everything.
You will find though-that if you stay on meds and your bp is monitored a lot, when you go into labour they will strap you up to the monitors to make sure you and baby are coping ok with the contractions. It's nothing to worry about though. Just let them know that you want to stay as mobile and upright as possible still-and don't let them make you lie down in bed for ages!
I'm now almost at the end of my pregnancy, but feel free to ask any questions
