If there isn't a medical reason for it, then babies will thrive better in the womb, than what they would in the outside world (obviously in different situations this isn't the case but in most it is) There is a reason pregnancy is measured at 40 weeks.

I'd ignore her, in my experience there is no point trying to talk to people who are convinced they are right, as you'l only upset yourself.

It is possible to have twins naturally too (I don't think she's been around for a while, but I think Delain had her twins naturally), so fight for what you want, obviously nature may challenge that, but don't back down Gin xx

The doctor at the clinic yesterday advised to go for a c-section, but I am more worried about recovery after th than th labour itself! I know I have still plenty of time, I am only just over 12 weeks, so will have to wait anyway. I know I my have to have a c-section because of the position babies are in or for some other medical reason, but honestly - I am not worried about the labour, but about recovery after c-section!!!

When i was talking with my mum she said the babies should be out be 28 weeks because it is twins and that is when she was born! I hope they will stay in a while longer, and she just didn't believe me when I was telling her that doctors here are happy for them to stay put until 38 weeks. I wish sometimes she kept her ideas to herself, she always believes that she knows it all and she is right, everyone wrong.
Babies should be out by 28 weeks??Seriously??Oh my gosh. Are you sure she means 28?My middle child was born a couple of weeks before that, was 1lb 9oz and even at 7 years old has major health issues from her prematurity. It's an absolute total and utter miracle that your mum is even here as back in her day there was nothing like the medical care available now!I'm literally gobsmacked..don't listen hun xxx
Recovering from a section is hard but tbh so can be recovering from natural birth.Or you could breeze through.Try not to worry too much and see how things go xxx

Nooo I wasn't calling you a tinker! Christ we didn't have any newborn stuff because I know he'l more than likely be huge and thought waste of money, but made OH go out and buy a few things as I'm worried about the clothes looking huge on him in hospital!

OH's mum is the type that irons everything, even socks

OH doesn't know it either, but for Christmas, he's getting some nice new clothes for the hospital, he is like a tink constant, holey t shirts and jeans. So he'l be looking nice and fresh while I look like a beached whale in pain.

Good luck Lynn! Hope it all goes well!

It's quite good Gilly, hubby won his fight so am proud of him!

I'd quite like to get home soon though and get my feet up, I noticed this afternoon that my ankles have swollen up for the first time... Anybody know of any good ways to get them to go down again?!

I had horrific puffy cankles and feet during that October hot spell, then they went away until about 33 weeks, when they have returned. I hate that they feel all hot and tight, and sticking them in a washing up bowl of cool water helps with that, but doesnt help with the actual puff much. Only way i can get rid of that, is plonking them in DH's lap with a bottle of massage oil. They do go down overnight if i lie on my side esp if on my left side, but dont go entirely. They only go down completely if he gives them a fairly hard foot rob.

I hate ironing, I really really really hate it, and I love being pregnant as my stomach stretches most things so they are all un-creased. So many things need done though and it frustrates me, I'm not particularly good at ironing either, which doesn't exactly help.

When I was at home I loved it, my Dad had one of those fancy steam generator irons and it was a joy to use. In this flat our iron is quite possibly one of the cheapest Phillips models available.

I find the tumble dryer makes things more creased, not less :( I sometimes hang everything up on hangers when it's out the washing, it helps.

:p S'ok i was being a cheeky monkey! I know thats not what you meant :).
I just got back from a late sainsbo's run cos i NEEDED sliced bananas with custard. While i was there i bought a pack of sleeveless body suits in 0-3 months, cos i'm increasingly paranoid that bean is going to be 9.5+lbs as per the prediction at my 32 week scan, and won't fit in the newborn gear.

Bump- tumble driers rock...I rarely iron anyway.. i have a special hanging technique for getting clothes to look neat and tidy without ironing.

P.S 4nnabella- slight puffing of feet/ankles is pretty normal in late 2nd, and 3rd tri. If it happens to a large extent and really suddenly, and you also get it badly in fingers and face, then its a bit more worrying, and def something to raise. You will find the m/w will start asking about odema in the appointments anyway.

  • Oh no really? We have a high heat no crease cycle on our dryer and I LOVE it.I tend to dry most stuff on rads/washing line till it's just a bit damp then lob it on the dryer.Finding it hard now to get stuff dry though as we're on about 3/4 ish loads a day and that's BEFORE bump :p

We have next to nothing in new born, 2 baby grows and 3 vests. My friend is sending loads of stuff her little boy has just grown out of though, so hopefully that will do us if we need it.

I've to go back at 36 weeks with my monster because of his size. I don't know what's worse, being induced or having a 10lber. :o

Watching this trial on I'm a celeb, and I feel awful!!!
