  • Just popping in for a sec as the internet signal right now is crap and it's taken me 5 mins (and counting) to load Asda front page so I can get some food in! My guess that I'd be team pink was way off, as I had a beautiful baby boy named Jack Ian on Saturday (26/11) at 4.25pm weighing 8lb 3oz. Had a horrible delivery, and the poor little man's nose is still red from the forceps (he had to be rotated before a forceps delivery as he was lying sideways), but he seems to be taking it all in his stride.

    Hello All :D

Mozzy - what you have said you will do with oh sounds good to me, I am sure it will all fall into place, baby will settle and then will start teething

Keelykat - ooh its going fast now

Bluebell - I hope you and your Dad have a fab birthday tomorrow :)

Jannine - So pleased to hear poppy is doing well and you by the sounds of it, wonderful!! :)

Toniq - It sounds as though the blood sugar is being very annoying, I hope it does settle soon, you are doing really well though doing the injections and everything. Its good that you are being seen frequently too as I think that helps you feel more reassured ((hugs)). Hope your Little doggie is doing well distracting you, Dylan tried to barter a mangled bone by dropping it on my lap as he wanted my food :rotfl:I dont want his manky bone!!

All - Still thinking omg I am not organised, done a panic order todayon boots as they have the christmas boints bonus online spend 75 get 1200 points
    - Bought a tens machine (they have 20% off) was going to rent but want it here like NOW just in case... bought the babycare femme one as it looks like its simpler :rotfl: also bought because think it would be sods law the baby would come earlier or go overdue and would be charged extra.
    - TWO yes TWO baby gates Lyndam ones (17 pounds ish each)
    - nappy pins :rotfl:
    - water spray bottle for labour, wanted to get evian but am not paying 6 quid for water
    - shampoo on offer (simple)
net result £17 worth of points and £12 off in offers so :)
(not too bad for another panic buy :rotfl:)

Question - watched more of antenatal online videos and she was going on about posture to encourage baby not to be back to back. Realised I do all the wrong things ie slump backwards on sofa, recline almost completely when in the car. Are any of you doing anything? I understand that you are supposed to have your knees lower and sort of be more forward leaning when sitting, lean over a ball thingey I cant kneel so thats out arrrgh! I think that those weird kneeling chairs are good but again my knees wont take that...:o
Anyone got a clue about this??

Agree with Gilly and Mozzy, call your midwife. Sounds like it may be a bug so try and drink lots of water in the meantime.

i've just been signed off work because of my heart problems :( i will most likely be signed off until i start maternity leave - which is going to be as soon as i can because of the same issues.. so if my calculations are correct..my estimated date to return to work should be around... feb-march 2013

i feel like banging my head to a wall right now! i'm only 18 weeks! sounds silly but i really didn't want to be off work completely i just keep getting the attacks for 4-5 hrs of the day every day, it's like having a constant panic attack! i just can't physically work like this :(

In antenatal class today they were saying it's much better to sit forward a bit as it's much easier for baby to fit through the pelvis. DH has promised to nag me about sitting forwards :D They suggested bean bags, birthing ball, putting cushions on a table and leaning forwards into them, or just propping yourself more forwards with cushions. Not very ladylike as you end up spreading your legs apart when sitting, but hopefully worth it :rotfl:

    Congratulations Eyeliner!
  • By the way, our local SureStart centre hires out TENS machines from 37 weeks at £5 each, they only have a limited number but I'm going to try and get hold of one, thought it might be useful for other people to know if you're thinking of hiring!
