I like this :rotfl:The thing is, we are both overweight (my BMI was about 28-29 before BFP, whilst his is over 40), and he is trying to make sure we are both fit enough to care for the baby. If only he stopped stuffing himself on food (we both love food...) and steeling my birthday chocolates! (not recent - it is just that I don't fancy chocolate anywhere near as much as I used to).

Lunch: reheated mashed potatoes with bacon bits and glass of milk... I could probably eat the whole pot of mash now, I love it!

Oh I love this, sounds like my OH!! He's always going on about being healthy and setting a good example for junior etc but is continually stuffing his face, I said to him, what about being healthy and his reply "well I don't have the time to exercise so what's the point" priceless :rotfl:

You must be having boys! I went off choc completely. It's back with a vengeance now :o

Well, at least OH is trying to get to the gym this week that he is home (he has been working away for the past 7-8 weeks). It just means that he is home only after 7pm, and I am either starving for food or falling asleep on the sofa.

OH's dad guessed we will be having two girls. We will have to wait and see, I guess. It is unlikely that they will tell us the sex at 12 weeks scan (I guess it is hard to see at that point).

I have never been a big lover of chocolate, but if there were celebrations, or some other nice chocolates, they wouldn't last too long. Now I have bought celebrations box and heroes box for Halloween, and we still have one (mixed) box left. I haven't had a chocolate from there for about 3 weeks!

Morning Ladies. Had 1 slice of pizza last night and some icecream. Weirdly enough the icecrream settled my stomach straight away. Was wide awake from 530-730 again. Got back to sleep and slept til 11. Just had cereal and coffee and so far I feel okish today. I did struggle to eat although not quite as bad as usual. It tends to get worse from the next meal onwards though. So might leave it an hour or 2 and then eat a ginger biscuit or 2 before lunch. I am working a lat shift today from 530-1030 so will finish and fall straight into bed. I haven't been up long and am feeling exhausted already.

I am glad you are feeling a bit better, you will find your groove with it. Have you actually been physically sick much - don't answer if TMI lol

I get the being wide awake after I have been to the toilet - my OH keeps saying my body is just getting ready to be awake all hours :rotfl:

Hello again :) The midwife has been to see me this morning (as the health clinic is closed due to strikes). Birth plan and any worries have been discussed, bp is good (very glad as im on meds for high bp) and she listened to the babys heartbeat (once he'd stopped moving around so much!).

Can't believe i only have 3 weeks left now! I really don't want a christmas day baby though-prefer him to be a bit earlier so i can be back home for my 3 year old. My son came a couple of days early-so you never know.

Bags are ready, just need nursing bras and i'll be ready :) Oh, just had a thought that i should really get my son a bag ready in case he has to stop over at my sisters when i go into hospital.

Has anyone else got a young child already that will be stopping with family/friends? I am going to buy him a small present, for when he comes to see me and baby at the hospital so he doesnt feel like i'm leaving him out. I still find it hard to imagine having two!

    OO

Maybe one of you will know

In my work contract it says i get any Bank Hol paid but i dont work them

Now - this doesnt ever "benefit" me as i never work a monday or friday

    BUT

If i wasnt on Mat Leave i would get the Queens jubilee paid but have the day "off"

What happens to this as im on mat leave? Do i still get the benefit of the jubilee/bank hol?

I would ask HR, and argue that this is your day and you should be allowed to take it as time off either side or be paid for it. I am of the opinion that you should not be any worse off because of maternity leave.

    Hi Ladies,

Just a flying visit to update and have a quick read back!

Poppy is doing well and has been able to come out of her incubator for a few hours a day for cuddles. She is so much more settled when she is being held. She is having my breastmilk every 4 hours (a tiny amount though) and the Doctors are pleased with her progress, he said she likes to complain very loudly if he does something she doesn't like, this is a good sign and shows she has fight!

Life is very surreal for me and hubby at the moment, I'm finding it hard to believe that this time last week I was pregnant and expecting another 3 months of pregnancy and now she is here! We have got into a routine of hospital visits and I seem to spend loads of time sitting expressing! I've healed well from the section and the Doctor who checked me today couldn't believe I'd had a baby less than a week ago!

Hope all are OK, it seems strange reading back and reading about your pregnancy worries/niggles seems like ages ago when I felt the same! Its sooo nice not to need the loo in the night anymore and the heartburn has gone completely!

    xx

  • I have no idea how DH is going to manage, it doesn't seem to matter too much how many hours of sleep he gets as long as it's uninterrupted sleep - if he wakes up several times in the night he's usually really grumpy the next day! Still, we'll both be working so we'll just have to take it in turns to do feeds etc. Luckily we can both work from home as much as necessary - until next September ish anyway - so can always work, nap, feed baby, work, cuddle cat etc etc as long as we put the hours in sometime during that day!

I had a really bad night last night, got to sleep around 2am, but I'm actually feeling more awake than I did yesterday, even though I must have had 10 hours sleep the night before.

Dad arrives tomorrow for a long weekend, so I've got a day and a half booked off work :) It's both our birthdays tomorrow too, and I've requested sausage, chips and beans for tea, think I'm craving junk food ;)
