    Morning everyone,

happydays - Congratulations on team blue :D
jenjade - sometimes my nail go through phases of growing so fast, but they do slow down again, thankfully, as it's getting harder to reach my feet to cut my nails :rotfl:
Rebekah - sorry food is causing you some problems. Just eat what you can and take your vitamins. It will get better, honest ;).

My NCT classes start on Saturday and get an email to say to bring either a cushion, beanbag or birthing ball. Well, cushion is pretty vague as it could be any blooming any size, lol, and I'm not buyging a bean bag that will never get used again, so I've bought a birthing ball. Just thought I'd mention it for anyone else starting classes, as I had to pay extra postage charges to ensure I have it for the weekend. A little more advance warning would have been nice :)

On the subject of OH's sleep and your own, you will both adjust. Your body will cope with what sleep it can get and you just need to catch up when and where you can. Airline pilots and doctors have babies too without the need to have to move bedrooms, lol. I'm sure it will work itself out :)

Thanks WW - I might just say to him the days he does have to go to sites, to sleep in the spare room, but when he just going to the office, to maybe help out those nights.

Sorry if i sounded a bit harsh, I can be brusque when I'm tired :( I just know I worry about my OH being out and about driving to appointments when he hasn't had a decent night sleep, and I would rather get up with baby myself when I'm on Mat Leave than expect him to and then put in a full day at work as well. My OH is a terrible sleeper and once he is awake he can be awake for hours! I think it will just be a case of having to see how things go.

    Afternoon all....

Darkphaery, there's still some basic things you can do to try and ease the pain, they're not medical, just basic movements.... Going up/down stairs- one step at a time, lead up with the better leg, and down with the sorest. Get up slowly and carefully, support yourself if you can. Keep legs together when getting in/out of a car or bed, if you're lifting things try and keep the weight evenly balanced and not too heavy. If you can, don't hoover or push a shopping trolley (makes you do side twists with your hips). Sleep on your side with your legs drawn up and a pillow between them. Try not to take strides as well when you're walking....
If mine gets quite bad, I take a couple of cocodamol, but I try not to unless it's quite sore. Mine's stuck between a very bruised feeling, and a feeling like I have stitches down below and can feel them tug when I move (really hope that's not a precursor!). On really bad days, I will find it hard to take a step, let alone walk. I also need DH to help me in/out of the shower, as I'm unable to lift my right leg more than a few inches from the ground.
I also have a bandage from hips to top of bump to reduce hip movement and keep my pelvis tighter together.

    Hope some of that helps.....

Thanks so much for the advice Lirin, some things there i hadn't thought of so will give them a try :)

Yea had cup-a-soup for lunch. Hubby has brought me some waitrose organic ginger biscuits so I had one with some chamomille tea which has settled things a bit. Hope I won't be feeling sick all day every day! As it was all day from the off today. Now I am really hungry and hubby is cooking pizza - means I can cut a slice as small as I want and go back for it later. I guess I am so shocked at the amount of food I no longer like. Do you still have some days you feel normal on? Or is this it now til the 12+ week mark?

The begining bit was horrible i admit, i wasn't actually sick with morning sicknesss but had an upset tummy for about 6 weeks and must have lost weight at that point. Once that eased off-i then had terrible heartburn and as as this pregnancy has progressed ive had acid reflux. I think i'm unlucky though that ive had the heartburn so bad. Luckily ive got gaviscon and tablets on repeat which eases it a lot now.

I have good days and bad days, ive gone off many foods-ie pizza and bacon make me want to puke if i see it still. My taste buds changed-i dont normally like spicey foods but have craved currys and sweet chilly sauce for example (no good for heartburn though!).

I also love milk now-usually hate it! Strange isn't it!

Also is it just me or does anyone elses stomach feel bruised from there baby trying to do moves that aren't possible. I've felt like mines is about to recreate the scene from Alien all day and I'm feeling tender, I wish he'd stop it :(

When my baby moves now-i actually feel sick a lot of the time. I've got the head bouncing on my bladder/down there and his feet/arms are kicking me right up my ribs. When he rolls over-it really stretches my belly and it hurts a lot! I think hes running out of space now.

Quick question - DH has just informed me that once baby is born, besides a Fri and Sat night, he plans on sleeping in the spare room. He said he needs his sleep as he's working. This has really annoyed me, but just need to know whether I'm over exaggerating. Is this what generally happens? I certainly didn't have this in mind! :(

I'm glad to say my OH wasn't like this (but he doesnt drive for a living for example). He has been up in the night helping me since day one-even when hes been up at 6am next day to work.

I understand he needs sleep for work, but i hope he can help you some times as being a mom 24/7 is not an easy job and everyone needs a rest/help at times.

A bit late now but hopefully useful for anyone else thats looking for one - our MW said to buy a yoga/excersice ball rather than a specific "birthing" ball. My local Tescos or Asda has them in stock on the shelves for £5. You just need to check that its anti-burst.

Thanks WW and KeelyKat - i've basically just told him when he's just in the office he can help out with the night feeds, but if he has to drive to Birmingham or Brighton etc, then he can sleep in the other room. Plus he can take over when he gets home from work to have some bonding time.
I was just annoyed because he gets so much more sleep than I do, always has. He gets up at 5am, and is in bed by 8pm or so, and I just think he needs to realise when baby is born, he may not get all 8/9 hours anymore.

Don't forget you can sleep when baby is sleeping in the day, I never bothered getting dressed, just wake/sleep when baby does. OH used to do the late feed 10/11ish, so I could go to bed after the sleep before 7/8ish. I was shattered as recovering from c-sec also.

That didin't stop me staring at him with anger when I was awake at 4am feeding (chair in bedroom) and he was sound asleep. But he had to go to work & try not to be a zombie all day.

My DH will sleep in the spare room if baby is being very unsettled and he needs his sleep for work as he works in heavy industry and has a 30 mile drive to get there so can't be half asleep! He'll start off in our bed though and only move if necessary. he needs (and gets!) lots more sleep than me and finds working shifts that he needs even more. I don't expect him to help out with night feeds as I know he won't cope with it and I can cope better with being tired than I can with dealing with him when he's a grumpy beggar due to not having enough sleep! I have told him that lie ins till almost lunchtime are over though once baby is here (except when he's been on night shift though lol!0.
