    HELP LADIES -

Im on mothercares website - looking for Maxi Cosi Pebble Footmuff in black - Seems its £45 everywhere, so going through quidco to mothercare for the cashback. ONLY - i have discovered they have a pacapod on there are the moment - £75 and if i buy both together its buy one get one half price, so £97.50 for the two.

I know pacapods are not very MSE, but i really really want one and have been looking at 2nd hand ones. Can i justify buying it new though with the special deal?

    Oh i just dont know!

Do any of you have a pacapod? They get great reviews, but i cant get over the price tbh...

I'd never heard of a pacapod until your post, curiosity got the better of me, now I really want one. They look fab, bit pricey I must admit, but its 3 in 1 so it sort of justifies the cost ;)

  • Woohoo, my plug finally came out earlier! Didn't think there would be that much of it, had to wipe three times to get rid of it all, looked like a huge thick slimy glob (sorry if TMI).

Just feeling a load of pressure now, don't think my waters are gonna break until the hospital tomorrow :-(

I was half expecting to see a post saying your waters had broken by the time i got to the end of the posts this morning.
    Morning ladies! Today's the day!

I must be team pink, there's only one pink on that birth list and so far my cousin's had a boy, friend's expecting a boy, as is her sister, workmate is also expecting a boy...

Mum and MIL taking me and OH up today (MIL was going to come later but mum wanted company). Dad and brother will have their phones charged (as they did when I was going for sweep, made a point to tell mum that they would be contactable all day, bless them!)

good luck today hun, you will be fine and having lots of mummy cuddles later on

I've been asked a lot recently what type of birth I'm going to have, which has left me wondering more about what I should want, as I suppose a couple of sneezes and the baby pops out is not too realistic ;) I have a high BMI, had a lot of miscarages and my consultant is keen on giving me DVT treatments before and after, I'm also thinking I would like a bunch of drugs/epidural if it takes a while, I'm presuming I will not get the choice of a water pool etc. I've always hated the idea of a Caesarian being done on me, but now I'm thinking it might just be the safest and quickest way for the baby. I really dont mind I just want the baby to get as near to term as it can and be ok, so I dont really have plans. I'm confused!

What do you all want to happen at your births?

im not going to do a birth plan, if baby is early as we think it will be then i will go with what they say. if not then we will just see how it goes i do have quite quick births anyway so an epidural isnt going to happen. if i am offered a c section i will be taking it, i have done natural birthing three times and really dont think i would be missing out on anything.

theres no need to be petrified hun, i know me saying it wont change anything but honestly there isnt. i wont lie and say it dosent hurt because it does, it hurts more than anything you have ever felt in your life. but, the pain goes away, you do forget just how much it hurt and as soon as you see your baby it makes it all worth it. there will be a point when you just know you cant do it anymore but that is the point when baby is about to be born. honestly you will be fine

...!!!!! are you sure you're not talking about MY dad?! that's pretty much the conversation i had with him a couple of days ago! it drove me mad! at the end i went all pregnant hissy fit at him and told him if he wants help, fine, if not he can do it himself!

edit : i'm a size 18-20 uk but i'm surrounded by lovely slim people :D

    I can beat you:

Parked in a parking bay at nursery, picked up DD, walking back to car and a lady came running up to me - She's reversed into my car (Apprently she didnt see the big green car behind her!!!!!)

Anyway, rang my dad to ask him to check car over - i couldnt see any damage but the car was shunted out of its space - anyway, dad SCREAMS at me that its my fault for parking my car in the row of spaces i did (Therre's three rows - other lady was in first row, i was in middle, my car ended up being shunte into the third row b- i hope that makes sense!)

Never even chuffing asked if we was in car or naff all - just shouted!

My first DD i had completely Au Natural and i intend to do the same this time. Dont get me wrong - it hurt - but NOTHING like the horror stories you hear. The drugs will slow the labour down and if you think the epidural will completely get rid of the pain your wrong - What do you think you will feel when the epidural wears off . . .

The only problem i had with DD was i needed stitches - When the head crowns your meant to stop pushing so your opening stretchs - pushing forces the baby out and you may tear. I didnt need may stitches - They tried to give me gas and air for them but my opinion was "ive just shoved a 6lb 5 baby outta there without anything, im sure a few stitches will be fine!!!!!"

I will say one thing - no birth goes exactly to plan so don't have your heart set on something

Alizee - you don't look that size at all!!!!!!!

I am surrounded by slim friends, and although I wear size 12-14 bottoms, I am very top heavy (32J - I have to get size 18-20 tops, unless I buy them in Bravissimo where 12-14 seems to be perfect). However, my friends are size 6-10 max, and I am the shortest (about 5'4"), so I always look and feel like winnie the pooh!

I think I am getting my bump, although I am only 11 weeks (it can't be all food, can it?). Told OH last night, that my coat is starting to feel tight around hip area when I am trying to button it up and he was saying there is no way you would be showing yet! He suggested I measure my waist to see hat is happening, but the bump is not on the waistline (yet).

My hip/bottom pain seems to have eased!!!!!! Of course - I have made an appointment with the GP for next Thursday about it, so now it is going to go away. I think it is the runnign around that makes it worse though - just had to run to Asda for some caraway seeds before boiler man arrives, and it was aching a bit. Well, after I cleaned the house over tonight and tomorrow morning before friends arrive for our early Christmas get-together, and then running around them, I will possibly be not walking on Sunday again.

About the birth - it is too far for me to think about it. But then, I have been warned that twins can arrive very early, so will take what I get. Would rother have natural birth than caesarean, but the wellbeing of babies is more important at that point than my wishes!

I've always thought i'd like a c-section, but now that we will probably have the choice, I worry about the complications.
I know if I go for normal birth, i will want an epidural, no questions asked. I suffer from rather severe anxiety/panic attacks, and I'm really worried about how I will handle it all. But I guess I won't know until it happens. I know I sound like a complete wuss, but its just something i've thought about and been scared of since I was young :o

Good luck today eyeliner!! Will be thinking of you! And make sure you get on here as quickly as you can to update us, even if it's just a quick message, you know how we don't like being kept in suspenders! :D (only joking hun, you are about to have a baby after all... :rotfl:)

I've been kind of, sort of, thinking about a birth plan. I'd like a water birth, not too keen on the sound of gas & air as I don't like feeling sick and yucky, don't really want an epidural as I want to be able to stay as mobile as possible, but I'm very aware that this sort of thing hardly ever goes to plan so am happy to keep an open mind and just go with the flow. Baby will come out one way or another so as long as the end result is a healthy baby then I'm not going to get too wound up about it.
