Morning all, I've been at the midwife today, finally met my own community midwife for the first time....not bad considering I'm 18 weeks tomorrow!! Anyway, she is lovely and gave me all the info that I should have got 10 weeks ago at my booking appointment and didn't! I asked her when I should stop wearing underwired bras and she said she's never heard of them being a problem and just to wear what is comfortable so i'll stick with what I've got and then go for non-underwired once I need bigger ones.
I told her about my hip back pain and she said to get a GP appointment if I was really struggling and otherwise just to take it easy.
Apparently they don't listen to the heartbeat here, they just go by scans and featal movements. She also crossed out the bit in my book that said after 24 weeks if you don't feel 10 movements in acertain time period then to contact them. She says she doesn't agree with it as everyone is different and you get to know your baby and how it moves so if I'm at all worried I'm to ring, no matter how many movements I've felt. But that's only after about 24 weeks, up until then its normal to feel lots of movement somedays and none others apparently!0 -

Or wait til just after Christmas? Just as an idea- there's a huge Next Clearance around the corner from me. Used to work there, and the stock tends to arrive fairly fast.
V sore now, can't sit or stand for more than a few minutes at a time.I think Annabella needs it for her work dinnerso she'd need it fairly soon.

I thought it was common knowledge amongst health care professionals that deal with pregnant ladies, that underwire bras interfere with the milk ducts? It amazes me that people are doing a job and don't know half the stuff they should do. I know Skintchick is a breast feeding co-ordinator (I think?) and she knows loads about that stuff and mentioned it a few weeks ago, will try and find the post now.
Edit: Here's the post hereThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

Jen, lovely bump picMoneySavingMamma wrote: »What I think is SPD is the pain in my right side of pelvis, top of my bum. It feels like a large rock is wedged inbetween my bones so when I walk it grinds on bones&muscles etc.
The worst it hurts is getting off the sofa, or out of bed, I don't know if it's where I relax, then put pressure on that leg, or the pressure on my bum when I'm sitting down making that leg useless when I get up!
That sounds exactly like me, except the pain is in both sides. I can't walk when I first stand up, OH thinks I need a zimmer to lean on. I feel like if I take a step my leg that is still on the floor will give way :eek:I thought it was common knowledge amongst health care professionals that deal with pregnant ladies, that underwire bras interfere with the milk ducts? The difficulty is that we are all given advice subject to that health professional's knowledge and personal opinions. I think it is best to listen to what health professionals have to say, go away and do your own research, and then make your mind up. Don't take everything they say as gospel. My MW when I saw her 2 weeks ago hadn't even heard that NICE were considering making sections available to all women despite it being plastered all over the news.0
