On the flu front, when I had the flu it wasn't a week of being tucked up in bed, it was a week of, having to crawl to the toilet because I had no energy to even contemplate walking the 10 steps it took, not being able to open my eyes because the pain was literally unbearable, my sheets were being changed every 12 hours because of the amount I was sweating, and the afore mentioned hallucinations which were making me freak out and try to jump out windows.

It's the most sick I've ever been in my whole life, I thought I was dying.

Pees me off when you see people wandering around Tesco saying "oh I've got a terrible flu" NO YOU DON'T you've got a bad cold at the very most.

I figured the time when you're most likely to get the flu, is when you're in hospital having the baby, some amount of lurgy going around in those places, and wouldn't fancy looking after a new born while wrestling with all those problems.

I got the non active version of the jab and just the flu, not swine. I had to ask for it though or I would have been given the swine flu part aswell. All flu vaccinations this year are non active, so there should be no side affects of colds etc :)

This bump had a bed booked in NICU at 26 weeks, had the dexamethasone steroids, been in and out on nephedapine to stop contractions and "supposed" to be on bed rest but have three others.BUT I'm 34+3 today so hoping the same happens for you x

thanks hun. im not holding out for a miricle but one would be nice. we have set milestones in place 12 weeks was the first, as we passed that 15 weeks was next, now 20 weeks is the next one then v day will be the next.

im not sure the steroids for a wile yet but they will be giving them to me once baby is viable. i dont know when those horrid tablets will start at the moment its 2 asprin a day, three diferent sets of vitamins and not moving around i dont know why they say the asprin can prevent sprm?

34+4 is excellent, were the other kids early?

I`ve been told by other b/f mums that it is toe curling in the first few weeks/days, but u settle into it :/ with 3 other children tho, i`m not sure i`ll be able to have the time, effort or even energy to really have a proper go at b/f. All 3 DDs had dairy intolerance tho, so this lil one will go onto a hypoallergenic formula from the off if i do bottlefeed.
Cant imagine what mums of premmie babies must go thru. Really hope u make it to full term hun xx

Not all early nope, first DS was 10 days late then DD1 was 26ish weeks(2 diff hosp made her diff gestation, one said 25 one said 27) she weighed 1lb 9,spent three months in NICU,came home for two days then back in for two months and been in and out ever since. She's still tube fed and has chronic lung disease etc but doing fab.
Then DD2 was so closely monitored, had asprin, few scares and admissions and got to 36 weeks but she only had to spend three days in SCBU.
With this one I've got a low lying placenta, been bleeding all through, been ambulanced in and they've stopped labour twice at 19 and 26 weeks and he's hanging in there.
When I had my biggest bleed at 17 weeks I passed several fist sized clots, thought I'd passed the baby in the ambulance and made the A&E sister look:o but the doc sent me home 2 days later "to miscarry in peace" <-- his actual words.
They only gave me the steroids at the 26 week admission.
Were all yours early then? xxx

It is a bit toe curling.Let me warn you of one thing, and please do not let this put you off because I think it's FAB you're going to give it a go!
Remember the after pains get worse with each baby, and breast feeding intensifies the pain as it makes the uterus contract,so be ready to ask for painkillers to deal with the first few days. That's just my personal experience though.Good luck xx

  • Afternoon ladies! Back from my sweep (that was fun....not! Especially since she a) got the time wrong, b)never told me I'd have to bring in a sample (same mw as Thurs) and c) told me I needed to learn to relax, because, of course, being used as a glove puppet is like sunbathing on a nice warm beach...)

Anyway, I'm currently at 1cm, I've to go in on Fri to be induced if JJ doesn't make an appearance before then, which I doubt he/she will.

my first daughter was 26 weeks she was in nicu until her edd touch and go on more than one occasion, it was the most frightening time of my life. she is fine now has some eczema and asthma but is fine

second daughter was 24 weeks, I had spontanious ruptured membranes (waters broke) at 18 weeks and was in hospital from then on) she was the most frightening one, they initially wasnt going to do anything because i was 23+6 but they luckily helped her, she came out of nicu when she was 7 months and went into manchester sick kids, they then found out she had glycogen storage disease and needed special help. she has a gasteostemy, well a mi key button now but she can eat non solids, considering her condition she is fine.

third daughter was 30 weeks. she was ok ish she was only in nicu for 2 months then in a normal fish bowl type thing until her edd she is absoloutley fine now, no problems

they all have bad chests in the winter and get pnumonia alot but they are happy and healthy, we decided to try for one more baby (we have lost a few) but this is definatley the last. I dont know why i cant keep babies in for long enough but im sure this baby will be fine like the others.

i havent had a big bleed yet but every day i am waiting on it.

    Hey everyone,

Hope everyone is having a good day. Think I need to start thinking about my hospital bag soon. The nursing chair and moses basket are arriving tomorrow. 10 weeks to go, and that still seems a lot, but with xmas and new year in the middle of it, I think it will all go way too quickly. :)

Can't remember if I asked before but where can I but the raspberry leaf tea capsules?
    TTC #3..........
