  • Afternoon with the babies was nice :) Though it's kind of hitting home how draining it will be, plus how little stimulation there will be for me (sounds selfish I know) at home all day... I plan to try to be as social as possible and join baby groups etc, but seeing my friend with her 2 year old and 2 month old made me realise how much of you they "take". I'm sure you love it when it's your own baby, but looks exhausting!

I've decided on bangers, mash and beans for dinner. Not v healthy but will be v yummy and we've not had it for aaaaages. OH will also be pleased with that choice.
  • Congrats on the ML Jen :j:j I meant to post this morning but had logged off when I remembered. Did you have a good last day?

    Congrats Steph

Kira I don't know what to suggest about your mum. If she hadn't got the dog she could have maybe stayed at yours while she recuperated. It's a tricky one, but I can understand you not wanting to be 4-5 hours away from OH.

Very restless, and while I do sleep at times, it's when I need to use the toilet I have problems- getting up is very painful. Seems to ease once I've been up a while, but in the middle of the night, wakes me up completely!

You sound just like me :o

14 days :O. Wife is going for a sweep though this Wednesday because of baby being so big lol.. but being medically induced on due date if that fails.

Good luck for the sweep on Wednesday! :T
Ummm... I have a confession (and this just shows how my head hasn't been straight for months) - but my EDD is WRONG! It's 12 Dec, not 11 Dec. Which I'm happy about as it gives me an extra day, but sad about because I'm no longer officially bump buddies with WW and Yummymummy - plus apparently around here they let you go 12 days before being induced which means if I'm late I'd be induced on Christmas Eve - RUBBISH. Could someone update the list please?

Noooooooooooooooo!! I feel like I've been cheated on!! :rotfl:
My hospital will let me go a full 14 days over ...... which will be Christmas Day, and given I am a Boxing Day birthday I am not impressed!:(:(:(

I survived the day at work, but I am totally shattered now. I'm off tomorrow, then got 3 more days to go before Mat Leave. We are seeing the Consultant at the hospital at 8.30am tomorrow, so an early start for us.

I think every single person I have seen today has asked if I am having twins or if I am due this week :o

Oh I've been having the same thoughts BM, I'm a bit worried that all I will do is look after baby and do the housework, especially during the Winter months!

    Evening ladies!

Hope you are all doing ok.

Ive had a shocking two nights sleep lately. Awake with a rising sicky feeling, happened each time i start to nod off. Spent all today on my feet painting the bedroom so hopefully i'll be so knackered that i'll sleep through!!

Got my appointment with the consultant tomorrow morning to see whether this thing downbelow is going to prevent/complicate a natural birth. Bricking it. Really dont want a C-Section or any intervention at all if possible! My plan from the outset has been a birth as natural as possible.

I was asking the midwife about inductions - my original EDD would have given me a 14 days overdue date of New years. She said that up here they dont book inductions in for xmas eve, day or new years eve or day. If babies are born then then so be it, but inducing a few days before the 14 days or a few days after isnt a problem.

I suspect its because the maternity ward is on skeleton staffing and extra pay over the holidays for those who get called in!

Got some left so that will be tomorrows dinner too.

Congrats to Steph, and love and best wishes to Missymoo. Hope she's ok.

Same here... I've got a friend up the road who's got an eight-week old and she'll still be on maternity leave when Pip arrives but if the weather's bad then it'll be difficult for me to get off my road and up to hers on foot so I'm praying it's not too bad so at least I'll be able to get out of the house!

Kitty took up residence in my piano. Now out, with the help of the extension bar of the hoover (distinctly unimpressed).... and hid behind the sofa. Is now on top of the radiator, and has met the mafogglies- fat cat wins! She is gorgeous, and a huge lovable thing.

I've spent the last couple of hours trying to find any position to sit or stand or lie that's even remotely comfortable.... The last few days every way I move twinges something, and hurts....

Is anyone else drinking an insane amount of milk?
