This weekend I'll be doing nothing, OH has uni work to do all of tonight, so I'll be on my tod probably if he decides to get off his bum and go to the library, and he's working late Saturday & Sunday. So X Factor both Saturday & Sunday more than likely... what an exciting life I lead.

Give me a shout then if you're on your own. And BTW- call that a bump? I'm entering a room five minutes after mine now.

Work going slow now. The building beside us caught fire (trust me, my job is usually not this exciting, I generally have nothing happening. It's just my final week I'm seeing heart attacks, fire alarms, buildings on fire etc....). Thankfully, no-one appears to have been injured, though it passed an hour watching it- the area the fire happened is gutted.

Nice was in briefly, looks exhausted. His wife is still in labour. Was very nice of him to remember it's my last day- I got a hug. He's enough on his mind, wouldn't have thought badly if he'd forgotten.

    Hello,

Lirin, sounds like you work in one hell of a place!!

Kira sorry about your mum being a pain with the dog, I too would be rather miffed to be honest.

Well I am upstairs sitting on the bed with my feet up as my ankles are swollen from standing in the kitchen so long, have made a huuuuuge batch of pumpkin soup, date squares and mince pies!

Keep getting texts and phonecalls to see "how I'm feeling" basically people just want to know if I've had the baby yet! The answer is no, and I don't think it will be any time soon, I think he'll probably be a week late as my original date was the 22nd. Just really tired now, eveything is such an effort, especially walking anywhere.

whoever it was that said about putting knickeres on, lol I struggle with it every day, tights are the worst, and I've got too much pride to ask OH to help me on with my pants lol, not that he'd mind I'm sure, but I'm funny like that. I'm still having baths, stnding up in the shower for too long hurts more, I can still get in and out of the bath fine, although shaving bits is still a hilarous job, caught sight of myself in the mirror this morning and it looks like a blind person has tried to shave my bits, rather lopsided lol.

Think I might have a little sleep actually, my feet are just so sore, wish baby would come soon :(

Oh and my spacial awareness has completely gone, I have no awareness of my size or of anything to be honest, tried to explain this to OH after I backed his car into a verge. Also have suddenly become the most clumsy person ever, in the past couple of days, I have dropped the mixer blade, very narrowly missing my foot, 2 bowls, a cup and a jar of chillies!!! I hate breaking stuff but I just don't seem to be able to help it, we have the most unforgiving slate floor which doesn't help matters!

    Right sleeps!

    Hi all

Havent been on for a day or so and boy have you guys been chatting! lots to read back through!!

    Just an update on shopping!

I just got an Angelcare monitor with the sensor pad online from tescos - £79 which was amongst the cheapest i could find it and then £10 off using a quidco voucher and then 5% cashback too via quidco! So made it way cheaper than i could find elsewhere.

Also - ordered carseat and other bits and bobs from Kiddicare - they did a pricematch with kiddisave (wasnt happy buying there due to so many poor reviews). Items delivered within 24hrs and all perfect. :-)

Been doing a baby stock take to cheer myself up. I think we are pretty sorted for almost everything we need- clothes (newborn up to 9m), bedding, monitor, pram, carseat and base, some disposible wipes and nappies for the first few weeks, then reusable nappies, wraps, liners and wipes, a breast pump and bottles, toiletries etc. The crib is being bought by my dad and step mum, so that should arrive in December, but we have the pushchair carry cot with mattress incase bean comes early before it arrives.

The only thing that we need to get is a couple of change mats, one for up and one for downstairs. I would prefer a change station, but the only space i can find to put it, i cant find one that quite fits- all too long or too wide. I would also love a feeding chair, but no space for that either.

It's weird. I don't know what to do now. It's strange to finally be on mat leave!

It'll probably feel more weird on Monday when you don't have to get up at silly o'clock to go to work... At least right now it's kind of like any other Friday/weekend...

oops just fell asleep for a good few hours! Still feel tired though, I think I'm getting cabin fever and it's resulting in me wanting to sleep constantly. Anything good on TV tonight?
