I would like to do some batch cooking in the next couple of weeks, but I'm lacking in ideas, so I'm looking for a bit of inspiration. What are you all planning on making?

Similar to Gilly really, Making a huge vat of base tomato-y meat mixture, then separating it and tweaking to make chilli con carne, lasagne, spag bol sauce, and some pasta bakes.
Also probably shepherds/cottage pie like Gilly.
Then getting pressure cooker down to make a few casseroles- chicken and beef probably, maybe a lamb curry.

If i'm feeling like it after all that, then i may make some trays of brownies and freeze them in portions as a treat to defrost!

I see you are in London as well. I am going to the Whittington hospital, what about you?

Hi I'll be going to Kingston hospital.

Phew had a nervewraking day. Had a couple of strong brax ton hicks while in the bath,I think I overdid it when I tried to shave my legs:o
A couple of hours later had some diorhea then this afternoon the brax ton hicks were getting more frequent and uncomfortable. Rang the midwife for reassurance and said to call back if they got worse or stayed the same. Touch wood theynhave gone now,but it was so worrying.

So annoyed right now, one of my OH's tutors at uni is giving him such a hard time, the emails she sends him are beyond rude and are beyond constructive criticism, it's upset me so much reading what she's written. When I know how much time and effort he's put in, and she's basically saying, your work is slap dash and you're not trying at all. :( I feel so bad for him too.

    OK, what a day.....

I'm wiped totally, and in so much pain.

I went to midwife this morning, who did the MOT on me and has declared me nice and healthy, and baby too. She reckons Hitch is around 5.5lb, and has a perfect heartbeat. Baby is head down, but she says I'm still too high and she can move baby's head so thinks labour is a slight way off yet.

Then into work. My replacement was there, so started training her. All fine up til lunch. Went into the office to find Nice pacing a hole in the carpet as his wife had just phoned-she wasn't sure whether she was in labour. Nice said she couldn't walk, couldn't sit, could barely stand, and hadsaid she felt as if she was being stabbed with a dagger. 30 mins later he was away to her. Wished him good luck....
Twenty minutes later had a staff member with a suspected heart attack- I was the closest first aider, so ran up two flights of stairs to him. Sorted him out, packed off in an ambulance, started writing up the paperwork- and the fire alarm went off. Was the closest again, so had to run to it. Only a fault... was reporting and writing that up too, and still trying to train in the middle of it! It went off three more times as well.
Stood upand heard the gunshot crack from my hip- even my replacement winced. Now- owwwwwww. There's nothing I can do but rest, I've taken a couple of co-codamol, but they're not helping. At least everything worked out alright in work....
Hurts to move at all. Hurts my pelvis whether my legs are apart or together, whether I'm lying down or sitting, and my legs keep cramping and going numb.... Bump is just a sore ache. :( Think I may have overdone it just a little.

Least I can relax the rest of the night. Wish I didn't have work tomorrow, but it's my second last day, and I can get my replacement to do most of it hopefully....

Lirin!! I thought it was weird we hadn't heard from you all day, had visions of you having had the baby!

    5.5lb that's a nice little baby! I'm jealous :p

Gilly, I'm too tired right now to have a baby! Hitch will just have to stay put. :)

Well at least you know you've got a few weeks yet. It scares me I have 12 and a bit weeks, God knows how all the Novembers and Decembers feel.

Morning all! you've all been very quiet!

last night I went to see a lady about reusable nappies, she hires out sets for you to try before you buy if you want. It was really interesting and good to see some different ones 'in the flesh' but soooooo confusing as there are just so many different types and makes. I think its probably the most difficult thing I've come across so far that's baby related, even choosing a pram was easier!! I think i'm going to keep an eye on ebay and buy a few if there are any real bargains (only ones that people haven't used though, not keen on used ones!) and then probably hire some from her when baby arrives as she only charges £4 per week for 20 nappies and everything you need to go with them! I can always put any I've bought on ebay and not used back on there and probably get my money back.

I've had a couple of weeks now of feeling pretty good but yesterday I felt pretty yuk! I put it down to having had a meal out the night before which was quite rich so thought it was maybe a bit much for me. however still feel yuk today and back to only fancying plain chicken to eat so I guess its more to do with being PG!!
