I have loads of garlic bread, it's the one thing I never get sick of eating, I could eat it all day every day. Not sure the OH would appreciate that though

Going to make a lasagne tomorrow, I need to get some little foil containers to put the leftovers in to freeze, so can't make it until I get more of those :(

I bought a load of those foil containers cheaply from Wilko for my great pre baby cook up i'm planning. Much cheaper than local supermarkets. Dont know if you have one near you to check out? Also bought some plastic ones, which are great for portions that you can microwave, as long as the stuff you are freezing is fully cooked already and just needs heating.

We don't have Wilko here which upsets me greatly, I love Wilkos :D

I get all my containers foil and plastic from Poundland, cheapest I've found them and they're not any better than more expensive, especially when the foil ones go in the bin after use. I've been batch cooking for a while now, OH is incredibly fussy, so I just cook all the things I like in large batches so I always have something to eat :o

    Hey ladies.

A bit of a personal one here -

Do any of you (or have you in previous pregnancies) havd issues with varicose veins down below? Ive found one and the midwife is concerned that it is blocking babies exit and may cause issues with bleeding etc during labour. I have an appointment with a consultant next week to determine whether to go ahead cautiously with a natural birth under consultant care or if they want to avoid the risk and go for a c-section.

Just wondered if anyone has any experience with this as im really quite worried. (PM if you dont want to talk on here) I really dont want a C-section and im terrified they are going to go straight for that option as they are being uber-cautious at the moment due to current investigations at the maternity unit.

I went to the hospital this morning for the same thing!! The doctor that examined me was not concerned and said that they will come and go and that some women get them more than others, especially older mothers. She did not mentioned the possibility of a c/s, now you have me worried! Let me know what your consultant says. I am 25 1/2 weeks btw.

I will post back as soon as i know whats happening!

I think the main concern is the position of the "thing". Its kind of an obstruction. From my internet searching they do move out of the way during the birth but there is a big risk of it bursting and heavy bleeding if they are actually in the birth canal. Everything ive read seems to point to a normal delivery but with close attention paid to them and blood units on standby just incase.

I would like to do some batch cooking in the next couple of weeks, but I'm lacking in ideas, so I'm looking for a bit of inspiration. What are you all planning on making?

I'll be making stuff I normally do, bolognese, lasagne, chicken casserole, cottage/shepherds pie, beef stew, mince, curry. Will also make a couple of different types of soup and freeze them too.

  • Carmilla I usually batch cook bolognese, chilli, curry etc.

Kira that's great news about your car being repairable :j

The things I have tried to help baby along include: Pineapple (although not the 8 a day you need!), Evening primrose oil, hot bath, gin and tonic (weird one I read about), sex, bouncing on my ball, long walks, going to see a comedian (trying to laugh the baby out), curry, RLT, foot massage, erm..... can't remember what else but basically nothing works!!

Went to toys r us yesterday whilst the car was in for an mot to see what toys they had and although we said we werent going to buy any for the baby, as at most he will be 6 weeks old, we have found some really good toys we love! We're not going to spend a fortune though, OH's family are clubbing together to buy a jumperoo thing for when baby is a bit older, which is nice as I really want one. Also got some lovely christmas decorations in TK max. Talking of christmas, what are all the ones with babies due beforehand doing on the actual day, me and OH are really struggling with what to do, as we want to spend christmas together but also have dinner with our families, but I want to go to mine and OH wants to go to his. We cant really have dinner here as we live too far from everyone to do it.... hmmmm... more thought needed me thinks.

My sister recommends walking along a kerb with one foot on the pavement and one foot on the road, apparently it worked for her!

We are due 11th Dec if we go 14 days over we will be induced 25th Dec, but we have bought toys for the baby for Christmas. So have both sets of grandparents and my sisters. The reason being that you usually get good offers at this time of year and baby is going to need something to play with over the next 12 months ..... and his/her first Christmas without toys = :(

Christmas lunch wise, we take turns each year as to where we go, one year at my parents, one year at OH's parents, one year just us home alone. This year we are having lunch home alone :j but will pop down and see my family after lunch. OH's parents live 100 miles away so will see them between Christmas and New Year.

Just read online the Duggars are having baby number 20

    Who are the Duggar's????

I've had a lovely day, went to Bounce and Rhyme with my niece, where she got hit in the face by another girl. My heart could have broke for her, she looked so shocked and upset :( Then I went shopping with my sisters, but only bought myself some new socks, came home for a nap, then my sisters have just been round for a cuppa with my 3 nieces, and we've just has pizza for tea :D I hope this is what ML will be like :D
