On the swapping nappies front, I've only ever swapped them over at asda, and each time, the amount has been put on a gift card so been able to buy anything really. Have always used mine to buy baby stuff though.
Had a final count up today. We have over 800 huggies nappies, in sizes newborn to 3 lol. Think we should be ok for a while. Chuffed though as they've cost less than £30
Had a fab day today. DD was out for the night so me and OH had some quality time. Feel loads better for it
And babies r us have some lovely blankets reduced. Ours were called Popcorn, and were reduced to £4.99, then were buy one get one half price. Only white ones were reduced in our store though.
Got the Thumper and Winnie blankets from Asda too, think they're lovely. Xxx0 -
He finally came up with a save-
'Oh, what I really meant was, you'll be the one bringing the Christmas present here this year.'
Gave him points for trying!
Good catch there from your OH Lirin :rotfl::rotfl:Yes :-( a free show too! OH's sister had 2 extra tickets. I begged and pleaded with him but he wouldnt take me. Seeing it on TV I understand why we can't be there, doesnt make it any easier thoughis it pathetic I'm so upset?
I would be gutted to if it was my favourite band. I was lucky as our fave band just toured and they did something a bit different and toured with an orchestra. All the venues were seated, so OH bought us VIP tickets to go to the soundcheck and we were in the second rowMy other half wouldn't take me to New Model Army cos he didn't think I could stand up that long... but went without me,
I think I would have done him serious injury for that!!
Does anyone know, if you have a section how long is it before you can have a bath/shower? Just with birth now getting imminent these things are going through my mind and don't fancy a sink wash for several weeks
And has anyone else tried perineal massage, and how did you manage to reach?0 -
Morning all, back to work and I have 12 days to do now without a day off
, I'll be shattered by a week on Saturday. Luckily though its the last weekend I'll have to work until after christmas then hopefully I'll only fall for a couple more before maternity leave starts. I could have given them up a month ago but I'd lose the money which I could cope without but once I'm on maternity leave the extra few quid a month for the first 3 months (I get full pay for the 1st 3 months) will help!
I posted on the 12-24 weeks thread about our pram shopping trip on Saturday. i think we'll be going for the Emmaljunge Edge 3in1. it's not very MSE but it'll last......and MIL is paying lol!
I was wondering what changing bag everyone has? I may well go for the one that matches the pram but just wondered if there are other nice ones out there that I'm missing out on. My mum is going to treat me to one for my 30th birthday/xmas pressie so I can get a bit nicer one.
Oooh you were all talking about heating. We never put ours on in the morning if we're at work. We just bear the cold for the few minutes we're up and about! So far we've been having it on for a couple of hours from about 7-9pm most evenings but only if we really need it. 3 nights last week we didn't need it at all. I'll sit wrapped in a blanket rather than put the heating on, MIL used to laugh at me and say I was like a little old lady but now she does the same lol!!
Oooh and how could I forget...I think I felt the baby move for the first times on Friday and Saturday. I'm 15 weeks with my first, does that sound feasible?0 -

It was tempting.I know the venue, it is very hot and not so much as a stair to sit on, and he was right, I wouldn't've lasted. But that doesn't mean I have to be happy that he went then told me how great it was!

Lisa, I have a Wallaboo change bag in black, to match our black pram/pushchair. Its lovely and snuggly and soft. Was worried about the fabric, and getting it dirty being a nice faux sheepskin, but read that it worked well to waterproof it, so did that and it looks perfect!
15 weeks with a first IS quite early to have felt something, but its not impossible- I started feeling at 16 weeks, which is very early too, but then, i knew i was PG at +4 days, and correctly predicted to the sonographer at the first scan, where the placenta was going to be (from pinpointing the implantation pains), so i think it depends on how in tune you are with your body.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

I did. Couldn't stop thinking the woman in the video posted up looks like she's trying not to laugh.
It wasn't really comfortable no matter which way I tried, so gave up in the end. Bump kept getting in the way! DH just decided the tactic of the night was to sit and laugh at me.
Slept a bit last night, probably eased by thoughts of only a week left in work. Since I managed to book every Friday off but not the very last one (not sure how I worked that), I will be a trainwreck by then. As it is, it's only Monday morning, and because it's so cold here i'm already sitting with my foot on a shelf in front of me and a rice sock on my ankle..... :rotfl:
Nice is off today, wonder if that means his wife is in labour?0 -
morning all off to work again today and when i finish at 3pm i will have 3 days left!!! Yeah working today, tuesday, thursday and monday then done (forever i hope!)
Baby is driving me insane today with her movements which involve kicking me in the ribs and grinding her head into my hips! Bless:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Morning girlies!!!
I've got a changing bag to match my pram. I didnt MSE it either (I did with DD!) so splashed out this time. I have a Silver Cross Sleep Over in Ebony: http://www.silvercross.co.uk/prams-and-travel-systems/classic-sleepover/ however - I didnt need to buy a car seat, cot, travel cot or many clothes (kept these from DD!) so figured i could splash!
If your after a MSE changing bag if you sign up to boots parents club you can get one.
Heating is still off but not sure how much longer i can keep it off in the morning! I'm waiting on next door to kick theres in (I'm in the middle of a 4 block lol)
Been very very stupid with my money just recently - always seems to be another bill just when i think i've sorted it (have a budget - these are bills i didnt know i had - like the tax credit over payment, the car tax etc) Luckily i get paid tomorrow by tax credits and then get maintainence for DD so not too bad!
Hospital on Friday - growth scan for flump and a chat with the specialist for me. Week after I have midwife, then the week after that i see her again. Am sick of seeing them now! She wants to discuss my birth plan - isnt everyones the same? baby out, baby healthly, not much pain please . . . . :rotfl:
OH's ex had a c sec with his son so he didnt ACTUALLY see anything . . so we're (me and mum) teasing him about the birth lol He asked why i had disposable knickers in my bag :rotfl: i had a chuckle and told him i wanted to give birth standing up with my arms wrapped around his neck . . so when it hurt i could strangle him . . . . he politley told me to get lost lol
Is anyone due in dec/jan time that live in a remote area. I'm panicking - mum read about this "arctic winter" - well when it snows you CANNOT get out of the village i live in (I'm not kidding!) there's 2 roads into the village and both get blocked off (honestly its like going back to the 1800's!) i figure the ambulances MUST have winter tyres on them to get through....0 -
On the nappy front, just found this for free nappies:
http://www.naty.com/uk/Coupon/tabid/330/Default.aspx
My heating is staying off as long as possible, as heating the place for the baby is going to bankrupt me!
My appointments are 6 weeks apart, seems like forever!
Thanks for the link
We have a fairly well insulated house, but the only dining area is the conservatory so we have to heat that - though we turn the rad right down and then put it on full for 15 mins or so before we want to go in and eat. Hope it won't be too expensive when it starts getting really cold!
We took my Dad out house viewing at the weekend so maybe we'll have a babysitter locally sooner than we were expectingThere's a project house he's interested in about 10 mins walk from us, but need to organise some quotes and things before he can make a decision about whether to offer on it.
My heatburn was horrid yesterday, DH made me eat half a slice of dry bread, which worked remarkably well - even if I did complain about eating it at the time!
I have my 28 week appointment next week (plus anti-D) and then antenatal classes start the week after, so I feel like I've got a huge stack of appointments!0 -
Changing Bag wise, OH has bought me the Baby K one from Mothercare for Xmas. It's £60 but it's really lovely.
One more sleep till I get to see our bubba again. Got a growth scan tomorrow. :j taking DD this time too so it makes it even more exciting for me.
And OH knows he might have to deliver this baby himself if it snows like last year. We have 2 roads out of our village. One is hillside so no good in snow, the other flat but next to a lake so not good if slippy.
Don't think it will be snowy when baby time comes though as we're not due till end of January.
Can't believe how cold it is today. Bbrrrr..x
