Mothercare measured me as a 32, but then when she started trying to fit them, I couldn't get into anything less than a 36. I think maybe it is the shape of my bump, I am 32 right under my bust, but maybe go out quite quickly from there! Mothercare bras are horrible on me anyway, as are some other bras I bought. The only thing I've found even vaguely comfortable and decent fitting is a Miriam Stoppard maternity one from Debenhams.

Would you all have decided to have a child if you'd been told all the nitty gritty details beforehand? ROFL....

When we married, and it was being joked about, my sisters told me all sweetness and light stories- how wonderful it felt, how they glowed, etc...

Now I'm actually pregnant, they revel in telling me gory details. :)

I knew all the gory details before hand courtesy of my 2 sisters, and as much as I wanted a baby for 13 years, and I am overjoyed that we are having one, I am seriously disliking being pg! I think even if people tell you how awful it is, you can't relate to it until you are in that situation and experiencing it yourself.

after being home for a week I'd say I was "blooming" people kept telling me how good I look, now does that mean I looked Sh!te before or do people just say it because they think it's the done thing to do? :o

People keep telling me that I look really well after several weeks of very little sleep, so obviously all that 'beauty sleep' I got before I was pg was absolutely worthless. I should have better spent my time pacing the floor in the early hours :rotfl:

BM I wouldn't worry about everything being all plain at this stage as plain vests are best for underneath outfits, plus you will probably get bought loads of outfits, of buy them yourself in the sales anyway. You've got lots of stuff for a tiny baby, but you could have a 9lb-er, so you could do with some more in the next size up, they won't come in wrong, whereas you may not need the tiny baby stuff.

For a nightie for hospital I would buy a Primark cheapie, they had some buttn down ones in last time I was there, and once you're home just sleep in a nursing bra, that's what I do.

Have you joined the Boots parenting club, as you get 10 points for every £1 you spend on baby items, plus you get a voucher through the post fr a free changing bag when you buy a pack of pampers. The bag itself is plain black but it's free and decent quality. I wanted a Yummy Mummy one, but couldn't justify £75 on a changing bag. My sister has had 2 of the Boots free ones and the first was still going strong after 3 years, the 2nd is still on the go at 18 months. Also if you haven't already, join all the baby clubs of Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda etc as you get loads of free vouchers.

How about putting some of the stuff you don't need immediately on your Christmas wish list for family to buy - things like your Sophie Giraffe and the Gro-bags? Newborns can't sleep in sleeping bags until their head is big enough not to slip through the neck.

You will defo need some hats and cardis, so someone who can knit will come in handy.

Anything you don't have you can get after, Tesco/Asda etc are always open. I have gotten most of my vests etc there as they are much cheaper than MC and baby isn't in them long.

You should be starting your RLT, you can take capsules from 32 weeks.

We went to a gig last night and had a great time, I am shattered today after having a good dance and playing out past my bedtime. I really though my legs had died by the end of the night though. Luckily OH had the forethought to tell me to book today off work when he bought the tickets months ago :D

Thanks for comments on my nephew last night- will be harder for my sis though, than me... Originally we'd been told if he made it to 12 months, things would start looking up- so was a shock when he went at 13. :( But he was seriously the happiest baby I've ever known, rarely heard him cry! Always laughing and cheeky, and a bundle of energy....

Ro- Good luck to your MIL today

Iwanttogoonholiday- I'll not be much help either, sorry. My pram's black, has four wheels, and can fit a baby- hazy on the make and model. It was £20 with a carseat, and had been used once or twice only- still had tags on it.

Jen- Physio told me most SPD occurs around sciatic nerve on left, maybe baby's just shifted?

Mimi- Hope your DD feels better

    Steph- Good luck!

Everyone talking about pantyliners- have started wearing them the last couple of weeks.... Need to pee constantly! It's annoying.

Something up with the way baby's lying today- can't lift my right foot above my ankle, so sort of shuffling everywhere in work. Pelvis really, really sore..... On the plus side, this is my last day this week, and five days next week- then I'm done. My head's all stuffed up, DH ran me a bath with Lush stuff in it last night, and had made Seabass and potatoes with vegetables when I got in. Massive headache from yestarday afternoon which only feels like it's leaving now!

Have to tidy up when I get home though- health visitor's calling for first time tomorrow morning (memory that bad, I've set an alarm to remind me!).

I am 35 weeks today. :) Barring all the dreary stuff above, I feel fairly good, just very very sleepy. Sucks that the highlight of my social life now is blearily watching Top Gear at 0200..... :)
  • I have my anomoly scan today. Its tipping it down and I stilll have to drag OH out the pit and go on an hours bus journey and then 20 min walk.
    This should be fun.

    Hi all

    When do babies turn?

Im 33+2 now and baby has been laid acrossways since well, i dunno, definately since 20week scan and has been in the same position at each MW appointment and my 3D scan since. Im getting a little worried that its got comfy there and isnt going to turn. Definately cant be born sideways!

I wouldn't worry too much Sammy, babies can turn right until the last minute, although obviously they have less room. Have you tried the torch trick? Try shining a torch at the bottom of your bump, if he/she is awake sometimes the light will draw them down.

    Morning All (Just) :)

Still waiting to hear re MIL

    Thanks Lirin re MIL

steph hope u get on ok with sweep

    Ravenlady good luck with scan

Tiny Tink hope things continue to go well for both oh and bump, I understand what you say about being worried when telling people, one thing that is very reassuring is is all the thumping going on down there now am further along as can see it too, its lovely except when it hurts

All - re the tmi discharge thing have been changing my knick nacks during the day (for quite a few weeks now) as am :money:refusing to use pantyliners unless I have no more clean knickers :rotfl::rotfl:
The constantly getting up in the night to pee thing is annoying but now think that I could do the whole bathroom trip with my eyes shut :o

Re the prams, you have all been buying lovely ones but am still relieved not to have to decide as will getting one free so dont have a big decision thank god!

The other day when mousey did a violent movement put my hand there and felt something distinctive and hard but could not work out what it was but was weird to actually feel a 'proper unspecified body part!!' rather than the movement if that makes sense. I sort of feel that the pregnancy is becoming all the more real especially as my stomach is much harder to ignore :)

2 things that are uncomfortable as mousey seems to kick up a fuss when I lay on my side at night but ok when on my back, obviously he is going to have to get with the program and put up with me laying on my side as its better for baby!! Also my blinking left ear hurts like hell think its because I lay on my left side so much, so must be a pressure thing but its like its on fire

    enough rambling

Wonder Womble hows the pregnancyt going, haven't really bneen able to keep up with this thread as it moves so fast. But i remember you like us had a nuchal/bad diagnosis around 12 week point. Did you go for any tests in the end or just reassurance from ultrasound?

Still worrying about our bub a bit as even though we had tests to eliminate problems obviously cant eliminate all.
