Thanks Blue Monkey will have a read through your thread!

I'm soooo lucky with my Mum, she is really layed back and isn't controlling or overbearing at all. I ask her advice all the time, but she never tells me what I should be doing or that I'm wrong. My Mum is the only granny this baby will have, DH's Mum passed away years ago and neither of us have any Grandparents left. I know his baby is going to be so close to my Mum which I really want, when I was growing up I had a fantastic relationship with my Nan (Mums Mum!) and I would love the same for my child.

I think me and hubby will discuss tonight and hopefully agree on money, I'm thinking around £100.00 per week, but that's just a figure I've plucked out of thin air!!

Hopefully this is a link to pic of my babes, tried to do pictur dont think it worked.
  • been to the consultants and i LOVE her :D

She has said without me hinting or suggesting to induce me around 38 weeks due to gestational diabeties so im bouncing and over the moon with that and cant wait till 22nd november to get my date for being induced.

DH came with me as I got scanned as well and he couldnt beleive the difference in the scan to the last one he came to as it actually looks like a real baby as opposed to the blobby thing it looked like last time. The midwife was really good and took her time and pointed out all the features to us rather than just doing the scan and saying its ok.

Really need to get my finger out and get the babys room properly organised although the cot isnt arriving till approx 2nd december  and need to pack my bags next week so they are ready to go.

I just want to bounce up and down with happieness as i wont have to go overdue (sorry to all those that are though)

Well. That's my GTT over and done with, woohoo! :j

Bit of a sore arm but otherwise ok. Think the worst bit was the bottle of lucozade, god that stuffs horrible...

Had a Krispy Kreme donut afterwards for a treat :)

    Hope you're all ok... X

    They gave you lucozade?? Jealous.

I asked for lucozade but got given a cup of sugary sickly stuff that "contains a pre-defined and measured amount of glucose" as the MW explained it. I wasnt best pleased. It was horrid.

How many antenatal appointments have you all had? By mat leave, I will have had 11 appointments- work are querying with HR as to whether this is a reasonable amount of time off or not.

I dread to think how many appointments I have had. From what I remember, I think I've had approximately:
    5 scans,
    3 ante natal classes
    3 consultant appointments
    6 MW appointments
    5 physio appointments
    3 pregnancy related GP appointments
    1 flu jab appointment

You are entitled to paid time off for ante natal care or classes (including aqua natal if your MW or GP deems it necessary for your health) and your work place cannot refuse, they can however ask for an appointment card or proof that you have had an appointment.

What about having your weight checked?

I've not had mine checked since my booking in appointment at 8 weeks!

I've just had a conversation with my Mum about child care and she has offered to have my baby when I go back to work - what do you ladies think?

I would snap my mam's hand off if she could do this for me. If she won't take payment how about buying her regular gifts such as a new jumper, her favourite perfume etc?

I have done absolutely nothing today, other than have a shower, slob about and read my book :o

I read up on the N.I.C.E guidelines for antenatal care (for an obscure query), and it is pretty clear that other than at booking in, they do not recommend weight checks during pregnancy anymore, other than if there are clear exceptional circumstances. Usually after booking in, the only reason you may get weighed, is at the hospital pre-birth in order for them to calculate anaesthesia doses.
