  • I felt fine this morning, but now I'm feeling really tired :( Got woken at 3am by someone's burglar alarm. We'd had a power cut, which must have set it off, but it seemed to go on for ages before I could then get back to sleep. I need to go to the post office with an ebay sale parcel, but it's really hard to find the motivation to get up out of the chair!

Hope you get hold of the midwife soon Mimi.

By the end of this week I'll have had 9 appointments (going up to 26 weeks). So far I've got another 3 in the diary, plus the antenatal classes are on a Weds 10-12, so I'll have to miss work for those for 4 weeks in a row. Luckily my boss is lovely and really excited about babies! Though she said she'd have preferred me to have a girl so she can buy dresses :)

With all this talk of lots of appointments was just wondering how anyone was finding it second time round as I feel I'm hardly getting seen. I had a scan at 13 and 21 weeks, had a midwife appointment at 10 weeks, 16 weeks and 28 weeks. I've been told to phone my GP to arrange an appointment at 31 weeks (next week) and a midwife with see my again at 34 weeks and 38 weeks. I seem to remember last time I was seen at least every two weeks from about 30 weeks.
  • I have a pain on my bump - Not lower (which i find odd) its right at the top - not a sharp pain, its constant - any ideas?! MW not answering her phone

I had a similar pain in the top right of my bump at about 33 weeks Mimi and I had to be monitored at the hospital for a bit. Apparently it can be a marker of pre-eclampsia (but usually isn't :) ) Do you have an on call midwife you could try?
  • No only an out of hours which isnt open. Left MW a message. Its on my right hand side under my ribs (not babys foot, have tried poking and it isnt moving!) cant sit properly because it hurts :(
  • I've not had many appointments, but feel fine, so not panicking... I've had:

    8 week check up docs
    12 week scan
    16 week MW
    20 week scan
    22 week MW
    28 week MW
    31 week MW

Next is 34 week MW check, then apparently every 2 weeks...

It really bothered me at first, but now I'm well into the swing of it, I'm guessing no news is good news IYSWIM.

I feel like I've had loads of appointments, think its because I've now had 4 20 week scans, got my next scan on Thursday with an appointment to see the Consultant straight after. I really hope baby plays ball this time and they finally get the measurements they need. I've been feeling loads of movement so hopefully that's a good sign! I'm also hoping my placenta has moved away from the exit, knowing my luck it won't have done!

I also have my 25 week MW appointment this week on Thursday (busy day for me!) can anybody give me an idea what they do at this appointment? I had my last MW appointment at 22 weeks and she didn't do much, listened to baby, felt my tum and that was it! I know blood is done again at 28 weeks, so don't have to worry about getting stabbed on Thursday!

My work place are wonderful and don't mind me having time for any appointments - not that they have much choice!

I'd expect the same again :D That was all I had at my 24 week appointment. She measured me for the first time though.

What about having your weight checked? I had this done at my booking in appointment, but it hasn't been done since and my notes say I have a very low BMI! I did weigh myself last night and have put on just over half a stone, so I think I should be OK now, but at 6 months pregnant I thought it would be something they would check!

i had the same as the previous for my 25 wk appt, but didnt get measured until 32 weeks, to be honest it felt a little pointless going to the earlier ones, i was barely in there 5 minute, urine sample checked, blood pressure checked, babys heartbeat listened to, that was it. I feel like I have hardly seen my mW at ll, ive been a couple of extra times to the docs for GTT but that wasnt with a midwife, so ive seen my midwife a total of 4 times and im nearly 37 weeks! I have seen one student and one other midwife though, my midwife is a bit onthe stressy side, tends to worry me more than anything!

Only had my weight checked at booking in, never had it done again,

I asked at 16 weeks if they would weigh me because i had been losing weight (an continued to up to 24ish weeks)
MW said it isnt usual to do weights unless you look drastically skinny or overweight at the appointments. She did say however that i was welcome to jump on the scales at every appointment if wanted to.
