Missy, I'm 5'8ish, and normally would be around 10.5st..... I'm very slightly above 12st now. Do not let your mum worry you, I know the comments get to you, especially as pregnancy leaves you so tired you feel really lazy.... Plus, if you're considering all the work after pregnancy- any weight will resolve itself. Breastfeeding, running around all the time- you will be fine...
But you've put me in the mood for soup now! As Mimi says- accept it, store it, and use it after baby is born. I've made plenty of meals so far-they're in our freezer for afterwards in case we're tired.

think i might do thanks lirin, need to think about the freezer and filling it for OH as he cant really cook bless him.

I dont blame you bluebell id take it and make a fuss that you ended up not having any breakfast and being pregnant etc etc, hopefully they'll give you a refund and a replacement, that way you can get your nice cereal.

cloudberry - hmm your only meant to keeo things in the freezer for 3 months so I would hold off a little while personally

Missymoo - could it be your mums way of "trying" to help (but going about it the wrong way lol)

Lirin - i made this soup yesterday - no salt in it and its GORGEOUS (having some later!) http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/winter-warmer-soup-2064. Cost me approx £3 to make! (Brought everything except Garlic, Veg stock and Chilli powder) - very MSE

I'd gladly knock someone out if they mentioned my weight now! According to the email I got yesterday, it's normal to put on a pound a week now. I said to my OH, I don't care how big I get, as long as it's not through binging (sp?) if it's all natural and supposed to go on, I'll roll with it, (pardon the pun) just want my baby to be healthy :D

I feel for you missymoo, mygrandmother was exactly the same. I was always a bit on the chubby side growing up, even though I am tall, and every time we went to visit my mum's parents, she would make a comment about how I was putting on weight, or something similar. She used to go on holiday to Tenerife twice a year, for a month or 6 weeks at a time and my mother, and sometimes me, would go with her for the first week or so, to get her set up with food and gin and tonic for rest of the holiday. If we were sat around the pool she would constantly comment on the figures of the tall slender girls wafting around the place, making me feel like a big fat lump. I used to let it get ot me but eventually realised that actually I wasn't as fat as she was making me feel I was, and then would just let it wash over me.

God knows what sort of comments she would be making now, if she was still with us.

I know it's easier said than done, but don't let her comments get to you. Big (((hugs))) from me!

That sounds easy to make thanks Mimi! I made some delicious veg soup once and I cannot find the recipe now. I love recipes that are quick, easy, cheap and the ingredients easy to find. Anyone else got any veg soup recipes?
Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!

Thank you Mimi, I will make that later- should have most of the stuff! Sounds delicious.

I was considering sweet potato, carrot, coriander and cinnamon soup- very simple! Just boil everything up, blend, and the potato keeps it nice and thick.

As for keeping stuff in the freezer for 3 months- my Dad and I once ate some of my parents wedding cake, which was around 25 years old when we defrosted it!

thanks hun, my mum was just like that growing up, pointing out any imperfection to me and my sister, now ive managed with the help of a lovely OH who says he thinks im beautiful, especially with my big pregnant tummy, he really is one in a million and Im very lucky to have him :D, to grow up not worrying quite so much or letting it get to me to the point of tears like it used to, but my sister, she is the prettiest but most insecure person you could meet, to the point everything is false, eyelashes, hair extensions, sunbed tan, fake boobs, shes now talking about botox (shes 32), and she truely is lovely to look at. I think my mother is just as insecure herself so she makes comments to make herself feel better. Right well, thats enough moaning and therapy for today  sorry for whinging, hormones is what I blame it on!

ANd you're right gilly, the only important thing is baby is ok.

    hugs everyone xx
