Is no one taking in "outfits" as such - just vests and sleep suits? (Maybe thats just me being weird!)
Have a snow suit, hat and mittens and a blanket. Was going to ask mum to bring them up (or OH!) when we're ready to leave.0 -
I'll just be taking vests and sleep suits I think, but am going to take nice coloured sleepsuits as opposed to plain white ones:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0

i did for dd1 she was in outfits most of the time but i am happy for this one to be in sleepsuits more comfortable and easy. up to you i guess i think people tend to take a coming home outfit in.
today is going well i have had 2 ham baguettes already and a packet of skips!:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Hi everyone,
I've come to join you lovely ladies. I'm 24+3 and currently in hospital with a rescue cerclage. I've been here since 29th September and I might have to stay until I'm 28 weeks!!! If I get a negative fetal fibronectin test then I might be able to go home sooner!
I have a disastrous obstetric history so I'm very thankful this disaster was caught in time. Now just fingers crossed that baby stays put fir as long as possible.0 -
I'm not overly fussy about what I'm bringing in- I live 2 mins from the hospital! Anything I need can be bought in quickly enough.
I've packed a couple of small bits- nothing major. Haven't even packed any outfits, just plain white bits.... And a Thumper snowsuit, a couple of the one-piece sleepsuit things. Couple of small hats and socks.
Edit- forgot the Christmas outfit I have which is bright red (naturally) and covered in Christmas puddings....
Anyone know how long a Physio app lasts, on average? Mine is right in the middle of the day, my boss was asking. He's trying to work out whether I'll be back after. Physio dept not open today, so I can't ring.0 -
I've got baby "case" packed - got a Humphrey box with some clothes in it in the Mothercare sale, so the box is being used as JJ's suitcase. Just taking a couple of sleepsuits, scratch mitts and something for taking JJ home in since it'll be November.
Think OH is getting impatient now. Every time I go to the loo, he asks if there's any sign of my show yet..."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

Hello All
Good luck to mancbird!!!!!
Am now 26+5 wks
kandboys - oooh not much longer now! hope u get on fine at midwives appt
lovecrafting - admire you for going for home ed, if it was me would probably drive me insane :rotfl::rotfl:I am not always the patient type!!!!
Question - been watching birthwise dvd and the woman recommends 7-10 days in bed after birth to help you heal (stitches in particuar ), bond with baby (for skin to skin contact), establish breast feeding, let oh get on with running house without u getting wound up because he's dropped something:rotfl:), can help limit visitors, have a rest before oh goes back to work and it all kicks off , hubby supposed to bring you meals etc and u snuggle with baby, do nappy changes and ur own personal functions and that is it!!!!!!
I am wanting to do it as regardless of how the baby arrives know it would be nice to think after all this carp can at least rest in between the screaming bubs of course :rotfl:
what do you ladies think??0 -
Ro I think it's practical if you only have yourself and baby to think about but no way could I do it having 2 other kids lol! My back would be killing after 7-10 days in bed too and I'm sure I would get cabin fever and want to get up and about.
eyeliner - tell your DH that you might not get a show! I didn't get one with DS1 until i was in established labour and didn't see DS2's at all!
I am taking a few sleepsuits and vests into hospital but then I'm having a section. I've also packed a bag for baby with other bits and pieces in that DH can bring over if I need them. We're 45 mins from hospital so not easy to pop and get stuff. I remember changing my 2 constantly as when poo leaks or they are sick on their sleepsuit that means a change so I'd prefer to be prepared.Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
I think 7-10 days in bed for me would be a bit ambitious! Even with a cutie pie baby to look after, I'll get bored! I'm going to try and get through the first week without any visitors, doing the bare minimum around the house, but will be on sofa in my dressing gown/trackie bottoms etc rather than in bed.:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0

Well with DD1 she was never in a sleep suit during day - always in an outfit - Maybe its just me being weird lol. I think i might take a few outfits still . . . . .
*Ro* - I had stitches with DD1 and didnt really rest (other than the 1 day in hospital!) I breast fed but got into it quite quickly, Visitors - I had just walked in from hospital, just made a coffee when my cousin turned up, she had seen my car. It was fine, until she tried to tell me why my baby was crying as which poijnt i ld mymum to get her out the house before i threw her out the window lol This time, I've told OH we are locking the door and unless they have a key (only mum lol) they arent getting in! His family are excluded from that rule though as they live 400 miles away and might be slightly upset if i turn them away lol
OH will cook dinner - but he always does when he is here.
I dont think in all honesty i could sit in bed and not do anything - it's not practical with a 4 yoand i'd feel a tool letting OH run around (I'm a terrible patient when ill, wont sit down etc lol)
