Quite a productive weekend, OH did some DIY bits in the nursery with only minimal nagging, we picked up a wardrobe/drawers set for DS today so his old ones can go in the nursery, no room to set it up yet though so still in bits in the garage. Also got a couple of bits of plain wallpaper up to cover up some rubbish bits of wall so I can finish the painting in the next few days. OH also mowed the lawn, trimmed the hedge and cooked tea today so he's in my good books for a bit longer!
Got a quote for 3 new radiators and fitting, £520! Is it me or does that seem really expensive?! No way i can afford that so trying to shop around a bit, otherwise might just have 1 instead, ex-FIL is doing the fitting so getting a cheap price on that aspect of it. Also need to find someone to fit the bedroom carpets that i bought 4 years ago on a whim when ex moved out, hope they're still OK!
And watched X-Factor, annoyed Frankie still in but hopefully he'll be knocked down a peg or 2 and he realises that it takes more than some stupid hair, tight trousers and a cheeky boy attitude to get anywhere.Little lady arrived 13/12/110 -

I have a question.
I know a few of you have SPD. I just wondered how you got diagnosed with it?
On Wednesday when I saw the midwife, I told her I have pains at the top of both legs, and that my bones crack a lot when moving legs/hips.
I already have a dodgy lower back from a car accident last year, was on painkillers before and had to stop them when I found I was expecting.
Obviously this pain is getting worse now too due to having a bump.
All she said was that there was no point in diagnosing anything as there's nothing she can do for me while pregnant. She said I'm not allowed painkillers other than paracetamol so i should just wait until after I give birth.
The pain really is getting worse, and I just don't know how to make it feel any better. Obviously i'm not saying it's SPD as I'm not a doctor, but I really am hurting.
Just wondered how you ladies are coping? And what treatment (if any) you've had?
Thanks in advance x0 -
Just tried going to sleep, but it wasnt happening! How annoying, an early night for once would be nice.
Sorry I canrt answer your question redhead, having not suffered with it, but im sure people will be a long in the morning to give you some advice. Havent heard from OH since lunchtime can only assume his comms are down which is pretty rubbish.
Cant decide if im hungry or not.....0 -
Jen I am very sexist and leave technological stuff to my OH
Have you got a gym ball or a birthing ball as I find that sitting on one helps create a bit of space in my rib area and pelvic area. I paid about £6 for mine at Sports Direct and was well worth the money.
Hmm. I had seen RLT tablets, and thought about whether they would be worth a try. Do you think they would work as well as the tea?
The tablets you start from 32 weeks as they aren't as potent as the tea, so I need to go and get some this week.I know a few of you have SPD. I just wondered how you got diagnosed with it?

I haven't been diagnosed with SPD, but you would have to see your GP and perhaps a physio to get a diagnosis. Your GP can prescribe you Codeine phosphate, I got that from my maternity consultant for back and hip pain. If you have, or think you have there are various things you can do to try and alleviate the symptoms, such as sleep with a pillow between your legs, keep your legs together as much as possible, swing both legs round together when getting in and out of the car etc. I really would advise speaking to your GP though for a diagnosis.
Well I have a horrible cold, it has been lingering all week and has finally shown it's ugly face. My nose is constantly running and sneezing, and bleeding. Oh joyMy hips have hurt all night but it is my own fault as I washed my tubigrip support band and haven't worn it all weekend whilst it was drying on the radiator. Note to self, just be a mucky mare in future and wear it unwashed

Hi everyone,
Sorry I've not been on for a while, just been quite a hectic week. Congratulations to our new mummiesfeeling very envious now!
Baby is still not here and I am now 9 days overdue and soooooo fed up! I've been having contractions all week after 2 sweeps but they haven't progressed into anything so I am now being induced at 3pm today. I'm very excited about flump finally being here but I am also a little disappointed that I haven't gone naturally as I'd wanted a waterbirth and was really looking forward to that! Ah well, doesn't really matter how he gets here in the end
Feeling a bit nervous about the induction process but I'm sure it will all be fine
Finally bought and fitted our car seat this week. We have gone for the britax first class plus which is a group 0+/1 seat. We were going to buy the silver cross ventura but would have ended up having to buy another seat for flump before he was a year old plus I was worried about lifting and carrying it as I have arthritis in my back, neck and shoulder. The seat we got doesn't attach to the pram (we have the silver cross 3d so the ventura would have made it into a travel system) but I think I probably wouldn't have been able to lift the seat in and out of our car once flump gets a bit bigger anyway.
I will try and pop on and let you all know how I get on.
