well i phoned the school and told them that the girls will not be in today because they have head lice (they dont anymore but they did on friday) and that i am going to be home educating them and to expect a letter. i also said i need to find out what i do about my governors position and they said they will call governors services and find out how i go about resigning. I am feeling much better now, dd2 is upset because she thinks she will be in trouble for not handing in her homework now. i told her she wont be in trouble because we are going to learn at home and she seems a bit better now. dd1 is so impressed that we have listened to her and accepted that school isnt working for her, she asked if i can go and get her a harry potter book so she can read it. i will be giving them a few days to adjust then once we move on saturday they can start properly from there again.
i have asked my mum if she is in today so i can get her opinion, i know she will be suipportive MIl wont be but hey we cant have it all, its ok to take the kids out of school to take them to scotland for weeks at a time but take controll of there education omfg how dare i0 -
Well done lovecrafting. It may not be everyone's decision to homeschool, but you made your choice and stuck to it. Ultimately, as long as your children are being raised in the way you would prefer, and they're healthy and happy- nobody can argue with that!
Glad it went well, and happy your daughters seem relaxed about it.0 -
Thanks Lirin hun, you wouldnt beleive how quickly the atmosphere has changed here, so much more relaxed0

Well my little monster decided that 2am would be the ideal time to kick the inside of me and wake me up!
Been looking at money and panicking! I've had ALOT of out going just recently - DD's Birthday, Brought my pram, all baby bits, car tax etc . . . Need to start squirraling away! Luckily I did some over time this month (Not much! only 6 hours!) but work owe me approx £150n so that's all of DD's xmas presents brought so i can then start saving for mat leave
I'm in two minds whether to start wrapping xmas presents - if i go in early then at least they are done and if i go in late then i dont need to worry about it lol
Need to start sorting my hospital bag out (got bits to buy!) Have all of babys bits but not sure what size clothes to take! They predict she will be around 8lb. I wasnt planning on taking loads of stuff in with me (I was out of hospital within 20 hours with DD1) and figured if i end up staying in then mum can bring bits up. I have 1 vest, 1 sleepsuit and 1 jumper packed so far for flump (2 sets - one set is "newborn" size, the other is 0-3 months in case she's big!) got a towel and cotton wool etc - need an "outfit" to bring her home in but not sure whether to buy newborn or 0-3
Is anyone else actually taking 3/4 vests/sleepsuits etc?! and what size?!0 -
Good luck Mancbird!
Mimi, not quite at the packing bags stage yet but I think we'll just take a couple of sleepsuits, one newborn and one 0-3 months, a vest type thing and a really warm snowsuit and hat to bring the baby home. We're only a 15 min walk form the hospital though, so it'll be easy enough for DH to pop home and get extra bits if we need any!
Glad your call to the school went well Lovecrafting0 -
it sound like you have done the best thing for your family lovecrafting. Hope it all works out well and dont worry about what other people think!
mimi. i packed for baby 2 newborn sleepsuits and 2 0-3 sleepsuits 2 newborn vests and 2 0-3 vests 2 pairs of sock couple of hats and a snowsuit to bring her home as i expect it will be cold plus a blanket nappies cotton wool etc:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j
