  • Seeing some of you ladies talking about disposables has got me thinking, I have never looked into them so have no idea how they work, which ones are best etc but im off now to read up on them a bit - too hot to do much else!

Just thought I'd say hi. Not been on for a few days so not had chance to flick back. Everyone keeps telling me I'm mad for buying reusables and reusable wipes (buy using the wipes it pays for the whole nappy kit so I'm told). I too have bought a couple of boxes of dispoibles for a few weeks and then I'm onto the reusables. Just need to buy a nappy bin.

Cloudberry I fully recommend the nappy lady. Fill in her questionaire and she will make nappy suggestions. She offers a discount code too. I love mine I must say, super cute :)

Cloudberry - There are loads of video reviews on utube which i found really useful. I'm drawn to the bumgenius v4 or the tots bots easyfit, which to me seem the less hassel and quite like disposables. Only difference being you put them in the wash instead of the bin!

Kira - You are a lot more organised than me! Nappy bin etc are still on my to buy list!!

I feel cheated out of the nice weather as it is miserable here. Even the cat is sulking!! She hate the rain!!

  • I've managed to be a blubbering hormonal mess today, got myself in a right weepy tizz earlier... I'm sure it's just being over-tired, over-hungry and over-hot, but I just couldn't get it together. I was looking forward to some lunch in the sun, then popping over to see my lovely friend and her 3 week old baby, but instead am laying on the bed with a bog roll and the laptop.

I'm a bit cross with myself for ruining the day and not making the most of the sunshine, but I'll put it down to being a bad day and hopefully tomorrow I'll feel more with it. Physically I'm finding pregnancy quite easy, which I'm grateful for, but I guess everything else (moving back from Aus, still not in our own place, stroppy boss, up at 5am yesterday then out at a party until 1am with no dinner) has just made me gruesome today.

WW - welcome back from your holibobs :) Forgot you were going, which is why we were wondering where you were!

Cloudberry/Kira/Emily - looks like a little gang of us will be at least trying reusables. I love the patterned ones! Need to do some more ready and decide properly because I'm still a bit confused between all-in-ones, two-in-ones, inserts and wraps!

Happy Sunday to the rest of you, BM x

I have a mix of easy fit and totsbots bamboozle (2 part system). The nappy lady told me the easy fit are not suitable for nighttime use as they are not as absorbent/good at containment. To be fair it only looks like I have to pop a super cute wrap over the top which I hope won't me too much of a pain. I watched lits of videos on youtube and those on the nappy lady site.

Bluemonkey hopw you feel better. I'm having a bad day too. Horrid isn't it.

i have heard from loads of people that use re usable that they are very easy as long as you can dry them also you may as well use reusable wipes or flannels to wipe as they can go in the wash with the rest instead of separating then etc. I wish everyone using washable nappies the best of luck dont listen to other people it will be fine once you get in a rountine. I cant dry anything in my house so i will be using disposables but i wanted to show my support:T:T

    Gorgeous Alison :D he's a wee cracker.

Uh oh think I've just upset my Dad, trying to explain why I don't want people visiting for a few weeks after baby is born. Now I know I sound unreasonable but I live far away from family, it's not possible to drive here for an over night or anything, you'd have to get a ferry or plane and it's for a few days at least. I just don't know if I'll feel up to entertaining people so soon after having the baby. Not that they'l be able to stay with us, they would be staying in a hotel, but I'd just feel "responsible" almost as there sole purpose of the trip is to visit me and baby, and if I've had a bad night or whatever, may not feel up to seeing them.

Am I being unreasonable? I feel awful now :(
