Oh God, my baby seems to be awake and active from about 4pm until 11/12. If that's a sign of things to come, I thought by 20 weeks they were supposed to be acting more like a new born!

Oh please no!!My bump wakes me up every night at 1.30/2am and has a good few hours thudding about in there :rotfl:

RE the conception dates thing. All three of MILs kids were born late december.Hubby and BIL were both born on 29th december and SIL the 19th december. We sat one night and tracked back and landed on St Patricks Day (yes they are an irish family!) :rotfl::rotfl:

?? 20 weeks is supposed to indicate what they're like as a newborn?

Hitchhiker never is quiet! I have constant movement, all day and all night! If that's any indication of what Hitch will be like as a newborn, I will never have sleep again....

According to the book I bought it says "Your baby will now have adopted a sleeping pattern and will snooze as long as a newborn. Once you have established these movements you'l be able to recognise when they are awake or asleep"

  • mine doesnt really have a pattern to movement, i dont know if its cause i get distracted during the day or what and dont really notice it, but i only tend to feel movement for a period at night when im sat watching telly or sat at the computer. i dont know if its cause im chilling out or if its cause the cat is layed on top of me and the baby doesnt like it.

im liking gina fords book the contended baby, as i LOVE routine and feel lost without one, it does seem to be quite strict though but im hoping that i can stick with it as for me there is no question about going with the flow. Baby will be in some sort of routine that works for us so if we can use Gina's already pre done routine great or if we have to muddle along and find our own routine then so be it, but baby will have a schedule of sorts as i do not want to be going down the route when baby is older of having to be mean and strict with it about putting it back repeatedly into its own bed if it wont stay in bed at bedtime ah la supernanny style. it seems easier to me to deal with the initial anguish when baby is very young and doesnt understand fully than dealing with a toddler that wont go to bed and sleep.

I was a valentines conception and DH was a new year conception, and our baby is a honeymoon baby, find that ironic considering we didnt go away anywhere and were planning on rome later this year/early next year which is now out the window :rotfl:

it does make it very easy to remember how long ive been married though, baby is 26weeks and 4 days, and ive been married for 27 weeks and 2 days :j and it means DH wont have any excuse about remembering how long we've been married for in the future.
  • when the baby is born it will fit into the routine we already have, were not strict on routine but we do make sure the kids are bathed after there tea and then bedtime starts. same as in the morning, we get up, washed,dressed,breakfast.. as for the middle bit it is never the same
  • I bought one from matalan for £12 and never wore it, it's size 12 black and still got tags on. Pm me if you're interested, it's only going on eBay otherwise x

Thank you very much for the offer but the size isn't any good:)

Thank you ladies, think i may make a trip to matalan sometime soon.

    Have a midwife appointment tomorrow.
I told OH yesterday that i will need to start to write my birth plan out soon. He said 'go to hospital, have baby, come home' i said i wish it was that simple!:rotfl:
