Sorry your mums not being supporting Ravenlady, hopefully she will come round when she realises how happy you guys are.
Mancbird, I was considering using the reusable breast pads however my sister in law used them and said that for the small additional cost she would get me the disposables rather than try to change too much. As you are part hippy it sounds like things should slot in easier for you, can't say I would every go down the washable sanitry route but as you say we are all different.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

Im hoping she doesn't come round and stays away, the more I spend with other people the more I am realising her over bearing behaviour is not normal. For one my kids should not be threatening to tell grandma on me when they are being told off and secondly when using the naughty step she takes me children off and gives me a dressing down for telling them off.Little Person Number 4 Due March 2012

C xx
I tried to use terry's with DD1 (I was 23 btw!) and i loved the idea . . . the only problem was when we was out and about i had this great big stinking terry towel with me lol Will be using disposies with this one!Today I sent my mum a picture of the scan and her suggestion was to get shot of it as she doesn't think i'l be able to cope, she doesnt like my OH and our lifestyle still isnt to her liking.
I expected this as its her normal reaction to when her children do something she doesnt approve of, like get married, go to a uni she doesn't like or god forbid date!
Oh Raven i'm sorry your mums being like that - I remember my ex MIL said same to me, she politley (:rotfl:) got told to rock off. She did change her mind when DD was born and although she doesnt see DD now (access issues with DD's dad) she's adament im a brill mum which is nice to know - hopefully yours will be same x0 -
morning all,
i feel more on the attact then yesterday when i felt mad and sad! one thing my manager said yesterday which i am going to write down and tackle her about thursday is she worked out how long i have to stand at one time 3 and a half hour and said David (her manger) is going to find that laughavle that you are grumbeling about standing for 3 and a half hours when teacher stand for 6 hours a day. this really upset me and i think it is because it is true i shouldbe able to stand for 3 and a ahalf hours however i have a medical condition and i cant! wish i could though. i think it hurt because i am frustrated that i cant stand.
anyway my come back to her comment was well they are not pregnant and dont have bad varicous viens.
I am going to write a list of greivinces (sorry cant spell) tonight as earlier in the pregnancy she wrote a rish assessment which she then ignored and made me do things i shouldnt do and she only sent the occ health letter last week and i am going to take a dictaphone and as if i can record the meeting for my records.
she also complained yesterday about my medical appointment being in work time so i will tackle that too then after the meeting i will come home see the doc and get signed off and contact HR to arrange a meeting to put in a complain. i now have a plan of action:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

as for the reuseavle nappies i can seee that it would be much more difficult with twins guess you just have to do the washing and drying loads more often but by the sounds of it that wont be a problem with a washer dryer. should be fine. they are much better then they used to be. fit better dry faster etc maybe just buy the first size and see how you go:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart

Dont know if you found anywhere, but we order meat from this organic farm, that raise their own buffalo! Yummmmmy.
Oh, and for what its worth, their buffalo icecream is AAA-MAZ-ING! So creamy and delish. They do deliver, but i confess i havent checked if they deliver to Ireland...
http://www.laverstokepark.co.uk/organic-beef-steaksIt was too yummy, I've bunged all the dishes in the dish washer, and done up the stragglers that wouldn't fit. I don't honestly see me moving from the couch tonight, I don't think I could even manage my usual post dinner cuppa and biscuit. Eaten far too much
Lirin Just had a thought... there's a food shop that sells all sorts of weird and wonderful things, including ostrich and kangaroo. According to Google it's called Sawers, http://sawersbelfast.com/index.html
Got a feeling they may have buffalo...
I got home last night to turkey, gammon, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, croquettes, carrots, peas, onions and gravy.... He'd even bought chocolate puddings as well! :rotfl:Was too stuffed afterwards to eat them. Your photo Gilly- yup, that's the Irish way of doing a roast dinner. Find the biggest plate you've got, then pile waaaayyyyy too much on top of it.
Will look at both links- thanks guys. I love trying new food, and my boss has put this in my head..... There used to be an ostrich farm near my parents, which was lovely!
Jenjade, just go off on sick or whatever from your work- that's far too much stress for you. Your manager sounds like a complete twit, and shouldn't be disregarding anything your doc says. My work are being brilliant, it's only higher up the chain I'm having problems- I'll be demanding a meeting if they don't sort my potential pay issues by Friday.
Hitchhiker is sitting that high that any bra I wear is slicing into me- I'm starting to bruise a little.....0 -

Morning all - no news on Winnie? Think my mum is quite a modern mum but sometimes she is stuck in the 1970s lol! She calls c-sections caesars and suggested names of Terry and Barry pmsl!! She thinks 6 hours is too quick to come out of hospital but if you and baby are fine why not?! I was in 3 days with DS1 who was natural but ventouse delivery and only 2 days with DS2 who was c-section. I was bottle fed so she doesn't push breastfeeding - lucky really as I can't!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

Time off for antenatal care
All pregnant employees, however long they have been in their jobs, are entitled to reasonable time off work for antenatal care. Any time off must be paid at your normal rate of pay. It is unlawful for your employer to refuse to give you reasonable time off for antenatal care or to pay you at your normal rate of pay.
Your employer can ask for evidence of antenatal appointments from the second appointment onwards. If asked you should show your employer a medical certificate showing you're pregnant and an appointment card or some other written evidence of your appointment.
Antenatal care may include relaxation or parent craft classes as well as medical examinations, if these are recommended by your doctor. If you can, try to avoid taking time off work when you can reasonably arrange classes or examinations outside working hours.
Discrimination and pregnancy
It is unlawful sex discrimination for employers to treat women less favourably because of their pregnancy or because they take maternity leave. For example, this includes:- trying to cut your hours without your permission
- suddenly giving you poor staff reports
- giving you unsuitable work
- making you redundant because of your pregnancy (you might still be made redundant for other reasons)
- treating days off sick due to pregnancy as a disciplinary issue
Your employer can't change your employment terms and conditions while you are pregnant without your agreement. If they do, they will be in breach of contract.
Jen, I may be wrong, but you could argue discrimination, as they're not making reasonable adjustments to provide you with suitable work for your condition.0
