i agree hun, i just think that people in glass houses should not throw stones, if i wish to use a disposable nappy it dosent make me a bad mum. omg why am i even getting hormonal over this. its a pointless debate, i am just mad at her because i supported her.. omg why am i even mad.0

:eek:I thought you meant a five year old when I first read that!
Dont listen to her, if thats what works for her then fine, you do what works for you!
I plan to breastfeed, but if it doesnt work out, then it doesnt work out. I certainly wont be made to feel guilty for giving my baby a bottle. I am using disposable nappies - again no way am I going to feel guilty about that. And my house will not be immaculate :rotfl:Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
i plan lots of thing like baby will breastfeed, sleep for 12 hours solid in its own bed, not cry, be content, etc etc in reality what will be will be and i will do what i need to to get by ;-):j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart

Indeed, each to their own Lovecrafting. We all have our ways, and what works for one, wont work for another.
MIL annoyed me a bit yesterday when she casually dropped in that she expected that i would be using baby's nap times to do all the house chores. I calmly replied that i would not, and that that would be the time i intended to try and nap as well so as not to be plain cranky and exhausted. To which she looked a bit horrified and asked when i was going to do them. I admit i couldnt help a little wind up (as i know she doesnt approve of DH taking a month of leave after beanie arrives), and said, thats what husbands are for, doing housework.. Poor woman didnt know what to say, and stammered out that PIL didnt do any such thing and went straight back to work while she stayed home for 5 years looking aftere the family...
*sigh* As DH says, its not that she doesnt think outside the box, its more that she doesnt know that there IS a box to think outside of...Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Something I read said that it's a good idea to do the housework when baby is awake (though not solely obviously) as they often like & drop off to the sound of the washing machine/hoover! I'll certainly be trying to rest while Giblet sleeps! Whether I'll be able to is another thing!

My other half likes to keep telling me about when his mother was in hospital with him, they gave the babies their last feed in the evening, then left them in the nursery to cry all night. That's lovely dear, but things have moved on since then!0

Not sure if I have got the wrong end of the conversation (baby brain and all) but we are planning on using re-usable nappies and have no end of people telling us that it won't last and that we shouldn't even consider it.
It is something that we feel strongly about and the more people say that we can't the more determind we are to go through with it, however does anyone know how difficult it will be on a practical level with twins? We have already bought some disposables for while they are in the hospital and to get us through the first week.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

Have you got a tumble drier Kitten? I think the only thing you'd have problems with is drying them. I have been told they're not as absorbent but that could be rubbish. With twins it would save you a fortune! The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

My Mom made me laugh last night - she advised me to 'stay in hospital as long as possible' - I told her we were advised by the hospital that if everything was ok I would be out after 6 hours (some hospitals quote 2!!). She was thinking along the lines of a week  My grandmother stayed a fortnight  :rotfl: She couldn't believe I'd pop the baby and be home after a cup of tea!
Bless, but it has been 34 years since she was in the same position....I haven't yet told her about the water birth (unheard of back then) or possible breastfeeding (bizarrely she doesn't think this is right!) Though we're using reusables too which got her talkig about folding terry towling squares..... um, no I think not!
