Oh, that is lovely. Good to hear about yours as well emsbet. Hope both of you have happy and healthy pregnancies.

Just had to ring the surgery to make an appointment for friday in case the sweep today does nothing.
Receptionist - "Have you seen the midwife before?"
Me (laughing) - "Yep, I'm overdue..."
She finished by saying they might see me Friday but hoped they wouldn't, which was nice!

Right, i'm trying to plan for tomorrow. I'm showered. I've done legs, armpits and other hairy bits. Sorted the dry skin on my feet (long handled ped egg is a pregnant ladies saviour!), just need to try and do a toe nail trim and tidy. Charged phone and Ipod. Bags all packed and in the car. Food supplies in the car too. I think that is that for personal prep?

Now just trying to make a plan with DH for tomorrow. Chances are its gonna be a longish few days, and our (spoilt little babies) cats have never been left alone for more than 8-9 hours. I suggested that DH takes me for 10.30, stays while i'm signed in, and settled in, and then heads home about 1 to spend time with the fur babies for a while- no visitors allowed on the ward anyway from 1-3. Then he can either come back at a preagreed time during evening visiting hours (which are 3-9 for partners, 7-8 for other people), or stay at home till the morning unless he gets a call to come back as things are happening. It seems daft for him to be stuck at the hospital whilst nothing is happening, and chances are, if something does start it will take a few hours to happen, which would be evening visiting time anyway. Give me my ipod and a book, and i'm happy.

    What would you do?

Kelda, this is our 4th baby so he doesnt have his own room to go into just yet haha! He will stay in his basket until he wont fit into it anymore (which will prob be about 6 weeks if he is like his hefty big sis lol!) and then into his cot next to my side of the bed. He will sleep there until he is about 18 months old. DD1 was 2 b4 she went into her own room, DD2 went in with her when she was 11months, only because she was climbing ou of her cot so had to have a bed! And DD3 was 18 months before she went into her own room. When this baby has to have his own bed, it`ll mean moving all the rooms/beds around so i`ll prob leave it as long as poss haha!
Ah thats great news on the TTC thread, see i said on NYE it`ll be a good yr for everyone over there :) xx
I have horrid reflux this evening, so going to be a pants night i`m sure :( really could do with some sleep!!!
I`m not sure who asked about food/epidurals, but i cant say i know for sure as i`ve never had one (or wanted one!) but a friend had one and i`m sure she said she was eating whilst playing cards lol!
Ah Kira u must be a bag of nerves! I`m sooo looking forward to hearing ur news! If ur on a normal ward, u should be fine to use ur mobile etc. Its just obviously if its late at night/drs r doing their rounds they usually ask u not to. Good luck, hopefully u`ll get there and u`ll already be 3 cm and ready to go ;) xxx

Sounds like a plan Kira! If i *god forbid* end up having to be induced, i`ll be leaving DH at home until things r in progress! xx

Kira, if you're happy and he's happy to be home alone then that sounds fine to me. I'm sure the cats would cope, although from experience when we leave ours for any length of time we tend to get told off when we get back!

Personally, my DH is a worrier and for it'd be easier to have him with me as much of the time as possible rather than him get himself worked up worrying about me and the baby while he was on his own!

Sounds fine Kira. I reckon we'll leave a key with our neighbors and if it gets to a certain time and we haven't been home, I'll get them to feed the cats. I'll just leave heater on timer, and biscuits down. They've got a few cats of their own, so know they'll be ok.

Annabella how much did you pay for your massage? How long did you get? OH has his extra double time Christmas pay in and said he will treat me, found a place.

This is the garb about it

Giving all of the wonderful health-enhancing aspects of massage to benefit the unborn child as well as mother to be. This treatment gently reduces the added physical stress and fatigue associated with pregnancy. A full body massage including face and scalp massage relieve natural anxiety and help prepare the mind and body for labour and child birth. (This treatment is not permitted before 12 weeks).

    It's £55 for an hour...

It was £65 for just over an hour. Well worth it, IMO! I'm going to go back there after Pip arrives for a hot stones back massage too...

I slept for two hours this afternoon! Ooopsie! Put my head down for half an hour, woke up at 5pm! I had a good night's sleep last night too... I guess my morning nesting took it out of me!

Thanks Emmylou. It just never occurred to me that having an Epidural meant no food until someone mentioned it to me. Hopefully you're right and that isn't true.
I've always known that I wanted an epidural. I don't handle pain down there very well. My smear tests are always very painful, sex sometimes too. So needless to say, I'm rather scared!
