Ah how exciting, my Dad's birthday on Friday, I would love to have mines then, he's having a hard time at the moment so it'd make him really happy, but no chance of that happening I don't think.
Well you have your phone and your little battery pack, so you will have to keep us updatedThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Good luck Kira000, hope it does work quickly for you. Best of luck.0

Well done Crababble, got my sweep tomorrow so hopefully it will go smoothly although not sure i'll manage to be relaxed as you but will certainly try. How long did it take the midwife to do?
The internal check and sweep was probably a couple of minutes, was not timing her though! She did BP check and general health questions too, plus listened to baby before and after to make sure it hadn't stressed her out too much in the process.
It wasn't that bad, but I'd take heed of Kira's comments from earlier today about getting it done, as I imagine it could be pretty painful rather than just uncomfortable (and rather strange) if things aren't ready.
Kira - I will do my best not to have my baby first! Apologies in advance if it does happen though. Induction is pretty much a cert for eviction, sweep is only an encouragement!:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

We are not getting a crib, although I would have loved one. We might get the moses baskets, it I manage to persuade OH to get them, as I think these would be useful to be able to move babies downstairs during the day or move one to another room if one of them is crying too much and waking up the other. I wasn't thinking to get the stands, at least not for upstairs - they can just go on the cots, I thought. The stands might be useful for downstairs though.
There is a baby sale in our are this weekend, and we are planning to go - will see if I manage to get OH to start getting bits.
hello Gin, my nearly EDD twin! So will both your babys go directly into their room at night rather than near you.. I guess twins would be a big squeeze in your own room!I cant recall who asked about the moses basket upstairs/downstairs? We have the one basket, which will be carried up and down every night/morning! I have the 1 stand which will go upstairs, and havent quite decided what to do downstairs yet, might have to get another stand. Havent got a cot yet, or even thought about one! Really like the idea of a white one this time
So, are you planning to uses moses basket until the baby is too big and then move him/her into the cot in the baby's room?mirrorimage0 wrote: »samuel has just come out of his moses basket and he is 3 months, but he was 9lb 12oz born and 57 cm long so was a little big
So.. at 3 months have you just moved him directly to the cot in his own room?
I'm a little nervous as our house is 3 floors (coverted attic) and so the baby will be one floor down from us when he/she moves to her/his own room, and so if i move him/her earlier than the recommended 6 months.. is that okay!?!0 -
I probably wouldn't put baby on a different floor from you until at least 6 months. But that's just my opinionThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

It would be difficult to fit them in our room - moses or no moses baskets, so I guess they will be in their own room pretty much from the beginning. But - we will see how it goes. I can't get my head around the bedside cots, as the way our bed is, if I put the cot next to it, I would have to climb in and out either through the other side of the bed or the foot end! It could only be put on OH side, but we can swap sides if needed. I guess with all the feeding, etc, in the first few weeks, there will be little chance to sleep anyway!
Oh, unless I kick the OH out of bed and put the moses baskets on his side! But wouldn't like to do that!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Annabella how much did you pay for your massage? How long did you get? OH has his extra double time Christmas pay in and said he will treat me, found a place.
This is the garb about it
Giving all of the wonderful health-enhancing aspects of massage to benefit the unborn child as well as mother to be. This treatment gently reduces the added physical stress and fatigue associated with pregnancy. A full body massage including face and scalp massage relieve natural anxiety and help prepare the mind and body for labour and child birth. (This treatment is not permitted before 12 weeks).
It's £55 for an hour...The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

Thanks! Joking aside, I do hope your sweep works though!
I think with respect to sweeps and being ready, i do think that is the difference, as i know some ladies have said they found it absolutely fine. The difference between the first exam and second exam was very noticable, the first time being the old carrot, and the second time was softening and shorter, but not enough. Wouldnt want anyone to be scared to have a sweep, just make sure you are ready! I did my hypnobirth breathing, which helped alot this time!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!
