You don't have to get a cotbed after the cot - you can just get a normal bed for the child. You probably would get one for £100!

Probably true about cot and cot bed.. over pregnant brain..:D A kids bed with decent mattress will prob be pushing the wrong side of £100 though..

Possibly - I don't dare looking that far ahead! We had a chat with OH last night, and I was saying I can't see how we can fit two cotbeds and other bits in the room without tripping over ourselves, and his comment was that if we can't fir the cotbeds now, how will we do when they grow a bit - to which I just said we will get bunk beds!

Top bunks arent suitable for under 6`s tho dont forget! lol
Also, people r always giving away bed frames on freecycle/freeads, u`d just need to get a decent matress. We currently have a Next bed (and next matress from family member) for DD3 and bunk beds all of which have been given to us!
I`m happy with the stroller......just the raincover coulda done with a few extra inches on the bottom...hmm...x

On the cotbed/cot front, if you have the room at all for a cot bed I'd go for that, it's why we ended up going for a crib over a cot, as I thought the cots were seriously a waste of money. You are looking at well over £100 for a decent kids bed and mattress. If you go for a good cot bed it'l last you until 6 years of age.

On the cooking front, I never want to see mince again, today I've made 5 portions of cottage pie, 5 portions of Italian style meatballs. 5 portions of chilli and 4 portions of lasagne! May also have made a treacle sponge. Taking a break for lunch, ham and cheese toastie, yummm. Mug of tea and a big slice of cake!

Planning on doing casserole later, but I don't have a big enough casserole dish for loads of portions, other than cooking it in batches, which I don't really want to do, what's my options? Anything else I could use as a make shift casserole dish?

Ditto. Thats why we went for crib then planning on cot bed once bean gets too big for a crib. cuts out the intermediate stage. Plus it seems babies sleep better in smaller spaces, when they are smaller, so a wee baby in a big cot didnt really work for me.

Re:casserole, i often do mine in our pressure cooker, on the hob, but if you dont have a pressure cooker, then you can do it slow simmering on the hob in a big pan instead of in the oven. Just make sure the pan is covered with a lid or foil so it stays moist.

Just got back from a group pregnancy physio class. Was quite good, gave me a few tips which I haven't tried before, which might hopefully ease the terrible back pain I've been having.

Going to dinner at a friend's house tonight, she's about 24 weeks I think and I haven't seen her for a while so looking forward to seeing how her bump has grown! :)

Re beds/cots, we have been given a lovely 2nd hand cot bed - it needs re-painting and a new mattress but I think it will look gorgeous. The only problem I have with it is that it has quite high sides (up to my boobs, although I am very short, LOL!), and it doesn't have a drop-down side. So I have no idea how I will get bubs in and out. I'm debating getting a smaller crib/cot, with a drop-down side, that I can keep next to our bed, and then put baby into the cot bed when it's a bit older and in it's own room.

I was also thinking that if (as intended, although I may be getting a bit ahead of myself!) we have a second child in a couple of years' time, they will need a cot/bed too, so it's not necessarily an unnecessary expense to get another, smaller cot now.

Agree with the smaller spaces, I can't imagine a teeny tiny baby (or not in both our cases  ) in a massive cot/cot bed :o but I know for some people it's the only financially viable option.

I may do half in the casserole dish half in the pot, I like how the chicken comes out from the oven all soft and mushy almost, so hopefully I can get that going on. Sent OH into town, as he was doing my head in, so I've got peace to work :D
