Fingers crossed for you today Kisa and Crabapple :0)
Does anyone know much about matresses? I am going to order our Cotbed from Boots and have a voucher for £50 off when you spend over £250 so going to get the mattress there too. Should we go for foam or sprung?0 -

I think sprung is better, but definately go with whichever has best airflow through the mattress, as it keeps it fresher and healthier for the baby...
This article might help?

Thanks Kira. At the moment just don't know what time midwife will be here and desperate to get something done even if it doesn't work. I guess we'll be discussing the possibility of induction as well if I can't have a sweep or it doesn't work.
I'm sending more labour vibes in the hope your baby starts things off naturally today, but if not, good luck for tomorrow!
Haven't done anything about the cot yet... it is at my parents, needing a clean down and repaint (the one I slept in as a baby in the 1970's!) and there's no mattress with it, but I decided to leave that bit for now as she isn't going to need it initially. Will just have to get organised before she gets too active in bed. Helpful to have an idea on the mattresses as there are so many options!:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Cheers. I really hope you are suitable for a sweep. I would say, have a think about what you want if she says you are borderline for a sweep- if you arent really ready, and they try, it will probably be pretty painful (if the internal to check hurts, the sweep probably will too). Its a tough call when you just want it to start, but best be prepared. The first time they checked me, i was sooo desperate, i would have said just do it, but it was soo painful, that when i went back last week, there was no way i was going to push them to sweep me if i wasnt 100% ready for one. I think it would have given me severe mental issues with all the checks later on when things do start to progress!!
I've kinda got my head around being induced now, its nice to know there is a an end point. I would prefer au naturale, but at least there is a definate plan, with a definate date, rather than the big unknown...Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

That's really helpful. Midwife has just rung (to check if I still needed her) and I haven't had an internal yet so I know there is a chance it won't be a good idea. She's happy to check and we'll see if it's worthwhile. She did say that they can do another in 3 days as well before we discuss booking an induction.
There's a load of home visits for her to do so might not be here until 1.30. Not keen on the waiting! Also, she's got a student midwife with her but I might as well get used to random people looking at my bits:rotfl::heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Morning ladies
I was going to say in response to Kimberley, No one is a good Mum to start with. Its something u learn. U dont walk into a new job on the first day with no experience or training and be amazing or even good at it! Every baby is different so u need to learn about them and their needs, being a good mum is something u become! Hope that makes sense?? I was just 19 when i had DD1, and felt i had so much to prove to everyone that i knew what i was doing etc. Spent soo much time doing that and not enough just enjoying it and getting to know her. Really regret all of that now and things were so different with DD2. Also, yes she will get that grant if she is on income support or a low income as its her first baby.
Crabapple, I was using the trolley like a zimmer frame yesterday lol, purely as my blood pressure was so low i kept going dizzy, but it killed and cramped my hips up so kinda wobbled and hobbled round Mr T haha!
Kira, really sorry ur still here, and that the radox stang ur nipples! How weird! (not u of course, just that it did that!)
Good luck to those with Apps today!
I had a rubbish sleep, again, i`m sure i`ll get more kip once baby is here. DD3 has been up since 4.40 and i`m shattered! I didnt even fall asleep til gone 11.30, was up at 1am for a wee, then again at 3 am, didnt fall asleep til 4, then DD got up. Gonna be a long day me thinks.
Need to start sorting DD2s birthday out, less than 3 weeks to sort some sort of party, but as i`ll be 36 weeks i really dont think i`ll be wanting to do anything on the dayxx

LOL. Thats what i thought too. May as well get used to it. Didnt stop me having a gulp moment, when the male registrar walked in, not the female consultant, and said he wanted to to an internal to check me.. Had to plaster on my best casual, oh yeah, no problem look.. :eek:Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!
