Fingers crossed for you today Kisa and Crabapple :0)
Does anyone know much about matresses? I am going to order our Cotbed from Boots and have a voucher for £50 off when you spend over £250 so going to get the mattress there too. Should we go for foam or sprung?
Sprung is definitely better, especially for long term. I found this really useful.

LOL. Thats what i thought too. May as well get used to it. Didnt stop me having a gulp moment, when the male registrar walked in, not the female consultant, and said he wanted to to an internal to check me.. Had to plaster on my best casual, oh yeah, no problem look..
Yep, think I'd have done the same! This is another woman, so not so bad, I've had a female student nurse at a smear test before. That was an odd situation as the nurse was talking to her about my cervix looking nice and healthy (not as bad as the old carrot comment though!).:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Thanks for the matress info everyone. Just noticed the cot version of the cot bed in nearly £100 cheaper. How long would a baby stay in a cot for? Would it be worth getting the cot rather than the cot bed? Soooo confusing!!
Emmylou, what is it like? I had a look when it was mentioned on here and looked like a great deal0 -

Well, most cots probably are to about 2 years, a cot bed can go alot longer, depends on the cotbed, but can go up to 5-6 years. So buying a new cot and cot bed and mattress is probably alot more expensive than an extra £100 on a single cotbed.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

I've got my 37/40 scan and consultant appointment this afternoon, so fingers crossed, it's the first time I've really had a female doctor for any length of time, so I'm not too bothered about it being a man or a woman having a look see. I just hope I dont get the locum registra I had an argument with early on in the pregnancy
My notes clearly say, consultant only, rather than random passer by that happens to be free, which has made me feel like im better and consistant care. Ive seen a different midwife everytime, but as they only check my urine and blood pressure, im not too bothered by that. That reminds me I must do my list of questions for later, as I forget everything when I'm actually there.
Have a good day, hugs and labour vibes to all that want them!:ANeeding to save all the money, lots of MSE learning still to do

I have found different info about cots in different websites. Some say they will last 18 months, other places 2 or 3 years. I think you can often possibly take one side off or some have a few removable stick in the middle of one side (not sure how they are cold!), so child can get out of bed once he is older. I think it depends on how fast child is growing, but I would expect it to last up to 3 years or so (average height for 3 year old looks to be less than 1m, when the cot would be 1.2m mostly).Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

You don't have to get a cotbed after the cot - you can just get a normal bed for the child. You probably would get one for £100!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
I might go for the cotbed then, it says it will do up to 6 years old so not a bad price when you look at it like that, and MIL said she would like to buy it for us and is happy to pay that much. I'm so excited, this is the first major thing we have bought for the baby :0)0
