Wish the weight thing hadn't been mentioned - just weighed myself... I'm going to focus on the fact that it is pretty much all baby not me as I haven't put what could be counted as much 'extra' on, and bump is pretty neat even though I was a fattie before pg. Still, that stone number was scary!! I was kind of glad the midwife measured me in kilos as that means nothing to me!

Should lose a good chunk of it in the next few days if this baby ever arrives.

    Hi ladies,

Lol at the Sainsbury's 1 carrot situation - One of the reasons I never do online shopping, don't trust them to get everything right :rotfl:

Re heartburn - I've been swigging peppermint Peptac liquid I get free from the chemist and it works really well. The one time I ran out and couldn't get to the chemist I tried Gaviscon instead and it didn't work half as good. Goes to show it's not always the expensive stuff that works better! Oh and strawberry Yazoo milk works too! ;)

I had a MW appointment today and she said little beans head isn't engaged yet and still freely moving about so I think I might be preggers a little longer than I thought, hopefully not too long though, this backache and waking every hour is doing my head in!

Good luck Kira and Aimless! x

    TC,
    Stacey x

No problem, are they generated for you? or is it a generic voucher? Don't wanna be fraud-ing :p

I'm looking for another isofix base for our 2nd car and want the maxi-cosi familyfix isofix base (already have an easyfix base and cabriofix seat so no other brand will work for us) :) The best I can find is getting Mothercare to price match some onlines places for about £130. Hoping I can do better. Any ideas ladies?

    ..

Are you a member of the Boots baby club? I had a voucher from them recently for 20% off when you spend £75 or more on car seats. The easyfix base is £120 so would take it down to £96

I have that voucher aswell actually, I'm pretty sure it has my name on it but if not then I could send you it if you didn't have one?

Just saw jannine's thread today. I hate it when lovely people are having a carp time. Hoping all goes well with her LO as it seems she will need an op have sent her virtual hugs. Thought the regulars on here would want to know.

Wow you lot are chatty today, I've only been gone a couple of hours and there's three pages to catch up on!

Good luck Kira and Aimless! Really hope things are happening for you both!

Gilly - :rotfl: at the carrot situation! I can't believe they would be so stupid!

I had a lovely little visit with my friend and her little girl this afternoon, although every time I see her, or spend time with any of my other friends with little ones, it makes me realise how little I know about babies and how much I'm going to have to learn, rather quickly! I think I definitely need to get that book you've mentioned, Kira, I feel completely clueless...

    Thanks Hon.
I've got two books, "The Baby Whisperer", which i was given by our old neighbours when they moved out and "Your baby week by week" which i chose myself from reviews. The "week by week" book i would really really recommend. Its not preachy, it doesnt recommend any particular method or routines, it just tells you what is normal (so you don't panic), and gives you the heads up on what might be round the corner and what can cause certain behaviours etc. Loads of the Qu's that come up on the new thread are covered in the book, which i find encouraging.
The Baby whisperer book is Ok, and has some interesting and practical ideas, but its much more of a "system" to follow, so i might pick a few things out of it, and ignore the rest!
