That's so funny Kira, I was just looking for a charger tonight like that, after I saw the Duracell advert for the new Duracell portable usb charger for phones! Smartphones don't last long these days so will need something like that.

Have you thought of the baby jogger city mini double?

I've ordered the single version (needed to shop around on price and got john Lewis to price match).

Edit: forgot to add that (at least with the single) you can add a carrycot or (what I am doing) attach a maxi cosi cabrio fix carseat so that your baby (babies) can face you. I tried out loads in John Lewis and it was the easiest to fold and "re-inflate" (not sure of right word!)

    (37 weeks today)

Ok thats where I get a bit confused. How do I find out if its compatible with a carry cot or car seat? Is that even an option for double pushchairs? Sorry if it sounds stupid but I find it all confusing :o

A lot of people have been recommending the city select and everyone has said how easy it is to open and close (not sure if thats the right word either). I feel like i'm missing out on deals in the sale because I haven't got a clue. OH is next to useless and is happy with whatever I want!

Ooh, ladies, a cool not-quite-pg-related gadget i ordered arrived today.

Basically, my hospital (along with most others from what i hear), doesnt allow phone/ipod chargers to be used so i was a bit worried as my phone eats battery charge.

    I had this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000UH46YY

delivered from Amazon today, for about £22, and it is a super dooper external device charger It can recharge 2 devices at once in a matter of hours (ie my galaxy s2 and my Ipod), and has enough charge for both and can be reused as much as you like. Most of the cheapy ones for £5-6 quid are either single use, or not powerful enough for the high powered phones and devices. It will work on Ipads too! Small, and pretty light ( bit thicker and heavier than the S2 itself), its charging now, and will be packed into my mat bag for the hospital.

Just a mention, incase it will help anyone else with the hospital stresses!

Thanks kira nearly ordered it but just realised one review says not comparable with iPhone 4s thought I'd mention. If anyone knows of a similar thing that would please advise as it would be useful thanks x
  • Nixxx - I arranged a nursery advice session at John Lewis - free :) and they can advise you and demonstrate all sorts of pushchairs, carry cots,. I got advice on car seats, bases for car seats, cot beds, mattresses, even bedding etc. This is my first baby and I am completely clueless. They went round with me and drew up a gift list (like a wedding registry) and basically I have either bought from the list online bit by bit (they store everything and deliver it for free when you are ready) or gone searching for cheaper alternatives elsewhere (and if possible, price matched). I think every John Lewis store has a nursery adviser so I would ring your nearest JL to find out what the pushchair is compatible with.

I did not get the hard sell at all and they don't expect you to buy anything there and then and don't chase you either. You also get a free ticket for complementary tea and cake for two in one of their restaurants :) I price matched two items (by ringing them in advance and getting them to agree the price then bought their item over the phone).

By the way, in case anyone is interested Derma Mum Stretch mark oil and cream are both on offer at Sainsburys at the moment reduced to £7.99 from £12 (until 24 Jan 2012).

When I looked it up on the city baby jogger website, they had all different set ups, with carry cots.

This can attach on to the city mini double :)

Edit: also the Derma Mum, this is what I've used throughout pregnancy, for any ladies earlier on in pregnancy and I've got 1 or 2 stretchmarks, not sure if this has helped, but I'm glad I've used it :)

Grr, me and OH are both so grumpy tonight, I have a cold coming and have a stonker of a head ache, I didn't sleep last night because of really bad indigestion. I've just had a nap, okay well a mini sleep there, and he's grumping because he had to lay on the sofa (our sofas are crap and definitely not designed for laying) While I'm about to stand and make him something to eat, even though I'm not hungry. Men, honestly  I hate when we're both grouchy.

    Hi all,you ladies can talk!

Gilly - 1 carrot! Well, probably it is better than when I mixed up on Ocado and intend of 5 courgettes I have ordered 5 packs of courgettes, each 0.5kg - we had lots of courgettes that week!

I am 18 weeks, and have put in nearly 7kg now. Ok, I put 2nd in week after Christmas when visiting my parents, where it seems eating is an Olympic sport!

Oh, and good luck to all of those who need it now!
