Oh I meant to say, went to Primark yesterday and managed to get a dark coloured, short sleeved, button down nighty (for labour) 2 pairs of fluffy bed socks, and 2 pairs of little slipper type sock things, and 8 pairs of black large pants (for after birth and to be thrown away :rotfl: ) for £13, heads up for anyone needing stuff for hospital bag and not wanting to spend loads like meThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Hugs to you Cloudyberry and congratulations. Hope things get easier for you. My darling son didn't latch on to feed well at the start and always seemed to be hungry. It wasn't picked up for quite a few days that he was a bit tongue tied and thats why he couldn't fed well. Only took a few mins to sort out once it was identified and was ok after that but I remember well how difficult that first bit was. I'm sure they'll have checked by now for anything like that though and hope he takes to feeding soon.
Had a midwife appointment this afternoon and ended up having to go to the hospital to have a trace done on the baby as the heart rate as seemed to be dropping alot when the midwife listened in. Turned out it's all fine but whilst they a scan was also done to make certain and check fuild levels which are good. Although a bit worrying at the time felt reassured when I left. Got a sweep booked in for next Wed which the midwife will do at home, hoping I don't need it though and will start by myself before then.
Incase I do need the sweep does anyone know how long it's likely to take and if I'm likely to be in pain after? Only a bit concerned as will have my little boy here at the time. Might see if mum's available to come and help with him.0 -
I don't get why midwives don't check for potential tongue-tie as a matter of course... It seems such an easy thing to sort out but causes so many problems as it never gets spotted early. Although saying that, I don't exactly know huge amounts about it, but from what I've read it just seems such an obvious thing to check for at birth...
I'm now so full of pasta and garlic bread! I fully expect to be asleep by 8pm! Especially after last night's rubbish sleep!:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -

Kate, the sweep takes less than a minute, its just like an internal examination. I cant say if u`ll be in pain after, u shouldnt be, however u may have cramps for a bit after. I found the actual sweep painful, not agony, but really not something i`d want to have done again! x
I`ve just thought, all this talk about cot mobiles, i`ve got a moses basket, so what do i use??? lol I have got one of these, http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3492426/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CNursery%7C14417537/c_2/2%7C14417537%7CBaby+toys%7C14417556/c_3/3%7Ccat_14417556%7CCot+toys+and+mobiles%7C14417565.htm
But in blue obviously! So hoping that will fit at the bottom of the basket, or if its not too loud up the top by lil mans head!
With DD1 we had all of the John Lennon baby stuff, bottles, mobiles, clothes, blankets, dummies etc, cant get it anywhere now and the mobile played "Imagine" wish i`d kept it all!!

Right, have filled myself to the brim with curry and am even less able to move than usual! Here's hoping there's some truth in the old wives tale :-) At least I now know I should be able to have a sweep on Tuesday if not, but the idea of getting to 41+1 is not appealing!:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Curry here as well tonight - very mild one, we made one this evening with a ready sauce...
I got to Sainsbury's and got 2 boxes of fairy washing powder and 2 bottles of Persil liquid. Should have enough for half a year...
TMI alert - I think my water infection is true... My urine today has a strange smell, sort of sweetish, but I just can't describe it. So got cranberry juice for now, and finished the first litre, hoping it will do some help until the hospital comes back and tells if I do have an infection...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
When baby is in his Moses Basket, we'll just use his monitor, no mobile. We've got the BT Monitor and Pacifier, which plays music and does a starry light show on the ceiling/wallDFD February 2012
