Lucy, are you sure you're not thinking of duvets? They're not meant for under 1 year olds I believe.
I must admit watching that forceps birth worried me slightly, I don't think mine will be quite that big though?0 -

I've got my permanently blocked nostril, which I seem to have every night in bed. Heartburn. And it feels like my insides are being re-decorated by my boy!DFD February 2012

The forceps looked quiet scary when you looked at how much pressure the doctor was using on them. I started buying food for the hospital bag, I have told DH after tonights OBEM I don't care about how hungry he is, I will not be tolerating any whining and if he eats the hospital bag food before the hospital he is out of luck. My other birth partner watched OBEM with us and he did very well considering how squeamish he is. I did ok apart from the intro with the outy belly button, no offence intended for those who have them but they creep me out!
Do many of you plan to have 2 people in with you?
I'm also thinking about cutting the cord myself, if circumstances allow, but people say that's weird and I'm wondering if that is maybe a bit too symbolic as I've not had a great pregnancy.:ANeeding to save all the money, lots of MSE learning still to do

Me too!! I don't know what it is but I've always found them a bit scary...! If I have an "inny" now, will my belly button still pop out? I might have to stick a plaster over it, LOL! :rotfl:
Who else are you having in the delivery room? I'll just be having my DH, noone else is seeing me in any compromising positions...! (Someone I know had their MIL in with them - OMG  )

They do use ALOT of force when they use forceps! Literally if its a small lady dr, she`ll have all of her weight behind it
I think that girl musta had an epidural tho, they were telling her when the contractions were there.
Had a rubbish nights sleep, pelvis is so sore and hips r at the point where they feel like they just arent gonna work much longer! Still got over 7 weeks of his too

Morning all,
Well doctors went well yesterday - I have (as I knew) a chest infection, and so now have anti-biotics (amoxicillin) which he promised me (I was a bit of a nightmare) were fine to take.
He did say how bad it was and that I should have gone sooner - and I might need to go back for a second course!!
Had a bit of a stressful morning already - baby always wakes up when I do and has a little kick about - but she didn't this morning (after taking first anti-biotic last night), but she has just woken up and started protesting already at me being sat at my desk (she doesn't like the desk poking my tummy).
Oh well - I AM going to be positive and have a good day! I am , I am, I am.
One born every minute was brill last night - although I would have instructed security to have that aggresive moron removed, did anyone else notice that every word that came out of his mouth was I or Me? OH got a sharp warning - no moaning, no stressing and deffo no being hungry!!! lol
Really though 10ld, 10oz, ouch - bless her, then three minutes of worry must have seemed like an eternity! No offence meant to anyone though but neither of them were actually mature enough to be having a child in the first place!! x xMarried the Man of my dreams 30/08/2008Baby No.1 arrived 04/04/2012, gorgeous little girl after 4 years of fertility issues!!:j:T0 -

Sorry you had a pants nights sleep hon.. I'm sympathising on the achy hips. I have to heave myself up to sitting position in bed, so i can turn over. Feels like about every 45mins. I did notice last night a new wierd noise when i do it, coming from ummm.. my downstairs. Kind of like an odd squelchy sound. Kept thinking my waters were about to explode, but they didnt! Bizarre.
Yes, i do have an appointment with the consultant tomorrow morning, well remembered. No idea what she will say. I imagine she will "check" me to see if my "old carrot"cervix has softened at all, and probably offer a sweep again. Don't know if she will suggest induction if i am softened, or book one in anyway for next week in case nothing has happened by 42 weeks. Not sure if i want one! I think Lirin said she was told no water birth if you are induced, and i would like to try that, so maybe i'll ask if thats the case, and if i would be allowed one anyway.
But there is only one waterbirth suite, so i might not be able to have it anyway, even if i were allowed.
Am kind of at the point now, when i just think a date is a date, and what difference does it make now anyway, may as well wait till it happens? But I guess there is the issue of just how huge bean is going to end up if she stays put longer! Plus DH has taken the whole of Jan off as well, and it seems a shame for him to just be stuck at home eating into it, with no baby!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

I've suffered from really bad nasal congestion since i fell PG. Really annoying. Spent the first 5 months putting up with it, and eventually the consultants registrar said i could use the Vicks nasal inhalator if it helped, but not the spray decongestants. It has really helped me at night, i must say, so maybe that is worth a shot? I also sleep with a bolster, a pillow and 2 cushions behind me, to keep my head raised, which also helps, and i find that my nose is less congested lying on my right side, than my left (wierd i know).Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!
