Dinah.. Hmm. I can see why 5 months would seem an age to be signed off, but work is not worth compromising yours or babies health for. Afterall, how would you feel if you soldiered on, and it caused a long term problem for your baby, that you might have prevented?

Is there a middle ground somewhere? I.e not knowing your job i dont know what is feasible, could you maybe explain the issue to your employer, and ask if you can work from home (bed!), so you avoid the stress and strain of commuting, and the work environment, but work still get the benefit of you for a while longer? I know my work were quite grateful that i was willing to work late into my 3rd tri, to help them out, and therefore were happy for me to WFH for the final month. Worth an ask.

Or maybe see if you can be signed off for a month, and then re-evaluate, as sometimes a good rest/break, can be needed to get things under control with a new pill regime, and then see about going back?

Thanks for the reply. I'm a planning officer working on listed buildings, so it's not really something I can do from home unfortunately I need to be on site. I spoke to my principal officer today and she was very much of the opinion I do what's best for me and the baby and work can go swing. I think I'll see what the consultant says, probably take next week off to see how I settle into the new tablets dose, and go from there. Cheered that 24 hours after starting the new dose I'm back down to 128/88 :D

Hey guys, quick question, my mam was asking whether I'd like some of those swaddleme type shaped wraps, I'm really not sure what I'd use instead, or if I need them, but she's offering to get some in the sales from Argos, just wondered what others are planning on using/have got?
I've bought a couple of swaddle wraps from pumpkin patch. I've been reading you shouldn't really use blankets with newborns, but not sure to be honest. Surely baby needs something?!?! ESP during feb when it's still chilly and our house can get a little chilly sometimes....
