no i dont use a pattern hun, i use the basic method of.

cast on 4st (match the needle size to the wool size so if using dk use 4mm if using 4ply use 3mm 2ply 2mm and so on)
    k1 m1 k1 m1
    k1 m1 k2 m1
    k1 m1 k3 m1
    k1 m1 k4 m1
repeat until you have the desired triangle size and shape
    cast off

you can turn it into a blanket by continuing on and decreasing instead of making one, add any edging you want, i dont add an edging generally. sometimes i will embroider a motif on them but thats only if i am in the mood for them, i made these for my other kids and they lasted until they were no longer needed, some made it thru multiple babies.

then once you have done a few of those you can sex it up a bit by adding patterns like k1 p1 or whatever there quick and easy to make and cost alot less than buying them

I'm watching OBEM tonight, but I don't know how I'm going to feel watching it, now that I'm actually pregnant! I have a feeling it's all going to look a lot more painful now...!

blood test this morning was fine, but this afternoon I've had a horrible pain :( Feels like a cross between period pain and a pulled muscle, extending from just below my ribs on the right hand side, down to just inside my hip - with the occasional shooting pain across towards my pubic "region" (for want of a better description!) I wouldn't call it severe pain, but it was enough to make my wince and say "ow ow ow" under my breath as I walked around asda! Has anyone else had this?
I wondered if it's just more ligament pain from when I fell over, but that was a week ago now. I texted my midwife but haven't had a reply - but I'm going to the doctors surgery tomorrow to see the physio so I might see if somebody can take a look at me... :o I don't want to be one of those neurotic first-timers though!!
Also got my next midwife appointment next monday.

sammy - your little girl sounds gorgeous, and (shhh don't tell anyone, it's a secret!) but Cora is what we're probably going to call our LO if it's a girl.

dinah/kaemi - hope you're ok. I completely understand how you must feel regarding letting work down, but you have to do what's best for you and bubs. I agree with Kira that maybe you need to sit down and have a chat with your boss about working flexibly or from home, if that's possible.

Lovecrafting, thats so cute! Hopefully she will be a good cook when she is older ;) DD3 goes thru phases where she will only answer to Princess Lily or Li-lo-lil! DD2 is called Imogen, but we have only ever called her Imps or Impydoodles! Took months of her being at nursery before she would answer the teachers when they called her Imogen! Even now, she tends to only answer them at school if they call her Immy lol! Thats what worries me about this baby, we need a name that has a good nickname!! xx

i hope she is a good cook. she spends ages looking at recipes online with me and loves cook books. she likes watching me knit and sew aswel, i think she is going to make someone a good wife someday lol.

see baby names is a sore subject here, my hubby has a name in mind and as much as i like it, im just not sure about it

Oh thanks, that sounds nice and simple! I could use up some off the almost full balls that I have that aren't enough to make a full cardi or anything as I don't suppose it'll matter if it matches when its just for sleeping in!

the colours and die lots dont matter at all as long as the weight is the same. i tried once using 4 ply then double knit then 4 ply and it just didnt work, generally i use this pattern to use up any balls i have left over from whatever i am making, i have one on the needles at the moment that i will finnish with a duck egg coloured 4 ply i am using at the moment for booties but dont have enough to make a hat. the more colour the better in my optinion i hate boring baby things. mind you my friend made me a blanket out of just white and its lovley

Hey guys, quick question, my mam was asking whether I'd like some of those swaddleme type shaped wraps, I'm really not sure what I'd use instead, or if I need them, but she's offering to get some in the sales from Argos, just wondered what others are planning on using/have got?

I've bought the mothercare swaddle blanket to try out. If he takes to it, then i'll get some more.

Is anyone watching channel 4 - the Fabulous Baker Brothers - they busy making sticky chocolate donuts. YUMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYY!!!! I so want one right now!!!:D
