I know :( in the end I just had to think that no matter how much worrying I done, it wouldn't change the outcome and just tried my best not to think about the worst case scenario and knew that I'd love my little boy no matter what. Was saying to MIL the other day, I think I had all that worrying as payback for having a pretty much dream pregnancy, no sickness or feeling crap or anything.

Thats exactly how I feel, i've been so lucky in terms of how the pregnancy has affected me physically so it feels like its payback time in a way!
    Hi everyone.

    Rant alert!!!!!!

I have had a cough and cold for what feels like the entire duration of my pregnancy now - and I am 24 weeks. Doctor says he can't do anything blah blah blah.

The cold I can cope with, but the cough has now gone to my chest - rung midwife and she has said to get to doctors asap, so am going today at 4:50.

The rant part - everyone at work is getting really really shirty - apparently the sound of me coughing is annoying them all and Ii should do something about it or go off sick, HONESTLY! It's a cough get a grip, oh and remind me next time one of them is ill to make them feel as uncomfortable as possible.

I am now sat here, trying not to cough which is ratteling in my chest and making me feel worse!!! Grrr grrrr grrrr grrrr.

I mean as if I don't want it to go away to!!!!!

    Moan over and breath................

What an idiot! i'd cough more lol! Hope the docs can give you something to help, there are some antibiotics that are safe to take when pregnant I believe.

I had 2 or 3 courses around 8/10 weeks preg. As long as you know they are aware of your pregnancy, then antibiotics are fine.

Another one here who has had antibiotics during pregnancy.

I was on 1000mg 3 times a day of amoxicillin then something else after that for kidney infection xx

  • It's just scarey isn't it - they keep telling you that you shouldn't and then expect you to just take them and not worry when they give you them! Been doing some reading and it would seem likely that he will prescribe amoxicillin for a respiritory infection type thing and that they are ok in pregnancy.

He will probably after all this worrying tell me to go away without offering me anything and tell me it will go on it's own - HAD IT FOR 20 ODD WEEKS NOW! I would really like to get through the next 15 and a half weeks without feeling this rubbish!!

    TMI warning.

Not to mention the inability to control my bladder anymore whenever I cough or sneeze - please tell me if I am a good girl and do pelvic floor excercises I will get that control back!!!

Now - where is that big hole for swallowing you up when you need it!!! I have just told one of them at work to get knotted and that is really not good considering I AM THE HR MANAGER. eeeekkkkk x x

Apparently if you do your pelvic floors it will help Snoopy, or at least that's what I got told at ante natal. It's a muscle and needs to be exercised :D

Me too. I get agitated :( although the more I do them the less it happens.

    Afternoon ladies and bumps!

My massage earlier was a-maz-ing! Soooo good! I was lying on a massive beanbag, seriously *the most* comfortable thing ever! I then pottered around town a bit, went to M&S and got measured and bought a new maternity bra (have gone from a 36C to a 36E apparently...). Also got my heartburn stuff (massive bottle of Boots own liquid stuff, plus some ranitidine tablets), also got some arnica pillules and calcium tablets after checking the supplements link again. The girl who did my massage tried to flog me some 'muscle relief gel' stuff for £27  which she said would be good for relieving puffy ankles etc, instead got some cooling foot gel with pretty much the same stuff in for £3 from Boots :D

Ummm what else... Oh yeah, when I was mooching round Boots one of the make up consultants from Benefit came up and asked me if I wanted a free makeover thingy (clearly I'm looking good today after my massage, which included a little facial and scalp massage so had no makeup on and scraped-back hair with massage oil in it!) so I thought why not, at least getting some free makeup applied would make me look a bit better! :D She was such a lovely girl, really chatty and was asking loads of questions about my pregnancy (and kept apologising for asking so many questions, bless her!), I did end up treating myself to some Benefit primer/balm stuff but I had a £10 Boots voucher that I used against it, plus some Christmas money so it didn't *technically* cost me anything... :D

I then went to Greggs and got a chicken bake which I've not had for ages and was so nice! Am now back home, having a half hour with my feet up before running around with a Hoover in the living room as I've got a couple of friends coming over tonight to watch a film and get a takeaway for dinner...

Hope you've all had a good day! I'm sure there were posts I was going to respond to but I can't remember... Will read back again now and see if it jogs my memory! :D
