...Tried ringing help line no(just after 6pm) and no one answers phone and no details of opening hrs on esavings code card letter. First time dealt with Nottingham on internet but not a good start so will have to wait until tomorrow. Know its early days but has anybody made a successful withdrawal from this account using esavings code card?

I rang them once and got through straightaway. I haven't made a withdrawal from the account yet.0 -
I haven't made a withdrawal and to be honest i shouldn't think many people have! but i have used the new code card as i needed to change my tax status.Had no problems. The time spent in transferring back the £500 and then adding to the derbyshire, will,to be honest not gain you much with the difference only being .05% on that amount. Why not just leave it open with that amount in? You might find it useful should they have another account in the near future with a good interest rate,so then you are a customer already.0

I have emailled them a couple of times to ask if customers need to keep a minimum of £500 in the account at all times as the website does not say either way but not had any reply... anyone know?God save the King!

My understanding of terms that no interest on less than £500, this reason why Derbyshire better for me looking for instant access account to replace N&P which matures next month. Hopefully a bit of hassle now will mean I can get funds into new account(Deryshire) and don't have to worry about going under Nottingham £500 minimum balance.
Will report back on why code card not working once spoke to Nottingham0 -
Yes i see your point, sorry, i was not trying to say which was best for your circumstances.Only i was a bit put out at the Derbyshire asking for proof of id when i used to be a member not tbat long ago,and wish now i had kept the account open.I have lived in my house over 20 years and have no debts, and other banks never ask for id,they do it online. The Nottingham was quick and easy in comparison!0

Well ecode no didn't work again this morning double checked to make sure entered exactly, but still said was wrong and account was blocked as entered wrong 3 times. Rang Nottingham got thro very quickly account was unblocked and with different response code got to withdrawals page. Put in to withdraw full balance of £500 - didn't allow as account would be below minimum balance!!!. So £500 is actual minimum balance you can't go below this and not get interest. So went back and did account closure will see how long it takes to get into my bank account.
So £500 is minimum balance don't know what would happen to all accrued interest if you wanted funds and closed account part way thro term.0 -
There isn't a 'term" as such. The bonus rate is applied up to the end of August but you could close the account at any time and the interest would be added up to the date of withdrawal.0

I received my code card and immediately did a small test withdrawal to my bank to ensure no problems when I do want money out - no problems.0

Just a reminder, if you close the account before the 1 September 2012(1st Sep is the first date you can withdraw the interest), you would lose the bonus interest rate, you'd only be paid the basic interest rate of 1.75% (bonus is 1.45%).0
