Egg to Barclaycard Transition Update

Has anyone seen a refund (of interest) appear on their account yet?
If so how long did it take?
To answer my own question, the interest was credited back a day later (as a separate transaction).
It will be interesting to see if on next months statement, an interest charge is applied for the interest shown on last statement - if that makes sense.
I seem to remember reading if you don't clear your statement balance in full one month, it can take a few months of clearing the statement balance again to get back to paying "no interest" at all.0 -
It might depend on which bank you have the DD set up with.
I'm with NatWest and I am not expecting to see the new DD details until something is taken (from my recollection of previous experience).0 -

I have had no problems at all, no interest charges, I've paid at the pumps with my card, cashback is showing correctly! They have even raised my credit limit despite Egg refusing to do so for about 5 years! I actually prefer using the Barclaycard online system. All nice in my world (for now!) You can bet I have just jinxed it!!
I've just logged in again to check that my DD details are all on file and ready for my payment date (after the horror stories on here) and was a bit shocked to see that my credit limit had been increased from £5k to £12.5k - I didn't ask for it plus I've had no message to let me know of the increase. Strange.:hello:0 -

I have, although whilst the refund is dated the same date as I phoned to complain I've only just noticed it so am not sure when it actually appeared. The refund is listed as a somewhat ambigous entry:Retailer Name: CR Purch Interest CS PIN Used: Signature used
I must say I've been very disappointed with this whole affair. I'll see how things go after the dust has settled (and, more importantly, I have received my cashback in March) but as things currently stand my plan is to ditch Barclaycard as their sheer incompetence doesn't instil much confidence.

[Edit: Oops - Didn't see you'd followed-up with confirmation yourself; I'll leave this here anyway in case others are wondering similarly]0 -
I've had spurious interest charges appear on my new Barclaycard A/C too and, when I phoned to complain, the Indian(?) personnel obfuscated for some time before eventually telling me that it was because I had made a partial payment in a previous month!
They appeard unable to complehend that it was impossuible for me to have made a partial payment to Egg because, throughout the time the account was open, a 'full amount' direct debit was set up - so Egg called the full amount each month!
Checking my bill (I spend a lot on my credit cards and keep very detailed Excel records), I saw that, in November, Egg had called less than the full monthly balance because they deducted 2 refunds which had occurred in the current month before making their DD call (i.e. monthly balance due 29/10/11 - £1000, Refunds 2/11/11 and 4/11/11 £100, DD call 7/11/11 £900) - so that probably accounts for Barclaycard's extortion attempt (they allege the £100 credits should not have been deducted from the payment call and amounted to an underpayment). Ignoring the fact that such an alleged underpayment was due to Egg, not Barclaycard, such creative accountancy procedures are outrageous.
In was offered a refund and a derisory £25 compensation after a phone call which had lasted in excess of half an hour. Needless to say, I declined and wrote to the CEO expressing my disgust that they should attempt to extrort money from me in this way.
They owe me over £100 in cashback anyway so I won't cut the cards up until I receive that in March.
The annoying thing is I've avoided all flavours of Barclays for more than 45 years after a problem with the original Barclaycard in the 1960s and only had to go back to them because Egg were taken over by them.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I have received a second card from Barclaycard. Still does not work at my local Esso station.0

I give up no joy on a refund on my interest charge even though account cleared last month. After several messages and a number of calls they sent me a later saying they will look into it in the next 2 weeks. How long do they need.
Got fed up on there agent who kept calling me from India and leaving me a voicemail or when I did speak to him he kept putting me on hold for ages.
Barclaycard are garbage. Give me my cash back then I am off. Been with egg 12 years not one problem. Had 3 weeks of he'll with barclaycard.0 -
I used to store my pins as telephone numbers
Ditto, all my PINs are stored as telephone numbers in my phone. Each of my cards has a name no one could possibly associate with them. It's the most secure method I can think of.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
