Egg to Barclaycard Transition Update
Comments
-
I called on Saturday with the petrol pump problem, was told there is no issue.
Called Sunday and told it must be a faulty terminal (despite it beign a different one).
I have emailed them now.
BTW - my local is Esso.
EDIT - once again I was told there was no issue wityh my card, but after arguing I've tried several petrol pumps, they are sending me a new card. This should indicate whether it's a card problem or a system problem.0 -
I have also been charged interest after paying the previous (Egg) statement in full by direct debit.
Will see how they respond to my message...0 -

Yeah, me too. They replied to my initial message saying I had been refunded. I waited a few days but it still hadn't appeared so emailed a second time. Got a 2nd reply today saying the refund had been applied and should be in my revent transactions. But it isn't. So I have sent another email, getting a little stroppy this time. REALLY don't want to have to ring them!0 -
- I transferred by internet £375 from my Nationwide acct to Egg on 4th Nov. It has disappeared into a black hole. Barclaycard obviously had my egg details as they kindly set up a DD to come out of my Nationwide acct. I have cancelled this DD and am now being charged interest as this money would have all but paid off my debt to Egg. I have messaged them 3 times with no success and as I am not the main account holder I cannot speak to them. My poor husband has phoned India several times but they insit that I keep going back to Nationwide (who have been very helpful and sympathetic) to get them to sort it out. All Nationwide can do is to put a forward trace on the money, I am waiting to hear. Barclaycard are absolutley useless and I cant wait to end my dealings with them. Any ideas anyone of how I can go about speaking to someone other than a man in India?

For me, it took quite a while to appear in my recent transactions, but it eventually did...0 -

At least Santander are not involved:

I've also had loads of issues. I've been using Egg Money for years, always paid in full every month by DD and never been charged a penny. BarclayCard take over and sudderenly I'm charged £10 interest. I made a phone call and was told that it was because I missed a payment. I told them that I have a DD setup which takes full payment every month so that was impossible. They put me on hold and came back to tell me some waffle about how it was actually my fault, but since I didn't know they would refund it this one time! I asked if I would be charged any interest if I continue paying in full each month going forward. I was told I would not pay interest in this case. However on looking at my account online it says that next month I will be charged £28 interest and I still have not recieved the refund! More emails going to barclay card to get this sorted. It makes me wonder if they are actaully trying to get customer like us (non profit) to close their accounts?
More to follow....
Barclay's :mad:0 -
I think the interest amount is what will be charged if you don't pay the balance in full - Egg used to quote the same thing, but phrased it better.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I wonder if the "signature used" statement fault might be related to the problems people are having at the self-service petrol stations (could there be something making the pump think a chip and signature card is being used, hence the "pay at kiosk" message).0
