Good afternoon
Wow 10 days since I last posted. Not much happening really. We've finally booked some accomodation for our holiday so I'm getting a tiny bit excited now. It feels more real now that I have something I can look at instead of just looking at the flight itinerary.
I just need to book car hire, hotels, car park, park tickets now but the biggest headache is sorted.
The kids go back to school tomorrow so everythings ready for that.
I'm back to normal working hours tomorrow and I'm looking forward to getting back to a routine even though the holidays have flown past!
My parents are coming for dinner tonight so I'd better go and get sorted xxxx0 -
Good morning
A lovely, calm morning! The wind kept me awake on Wednesday night so I was shattered yesterday and fell asleep on the sofa at 9.30pm until bedtime! Slept all night as well so I must have needed it.
I got a payrise, its an extra £1000 per year so I'm pleased with that. I need to save it up for now until we go on holiday to cover the costs.
I'm taking DD out after school to see if we can get a few new items of clothing for the summer. I don't want to buy/spend alot as she's growing so quickly but she can use them before we go away as I don't see the point in buying and saving clothes just for the holiday. I saw some nice, reasonably priced sandals in H&M the other day for her so we'll go and get those as well before the sun finally appears and everyone else buys them.
DS will also need some new things, but I'll take him out seperately another day and DH will have to entertain DD.
Todays list
1) Wash family room and lounge cushion covers
2) Blitz hall, landing and stairs, possibly UT room (time dependant)
3) Ironing
4) Take DD shopping after school
5) Investigate where the stinky cat has done a wee, the UT room stinks. I suspect he's done it on the washing waiting to be done in the sink (filthy creature) He has a nice, clean litter tray but that was obviously not good enough for his particular needs:rotfl:
Dinner tonight is a gnocchi/pasta bake with a carbonara sauce mixed with mushrooms, bacon and onions topped off with mozarella served with garlic bread.
I need to clean my ovens out over the weekend so there will be no more roast dinners now until the autumn.
Hope everyone has a lovely day xxx0 -

I didn't manage to blitz the UT room as I ran out of time and I'm taking DD shopping this morning.
Its a lovely sunny day so theres another load of washing out on the line.
I suspect the cat had done a wee/sprayed near his bed sp that had a good wash yesterday and the smells gone :j He's been neutred so I don't know why he feels the need to spray ocasionally, maybe he felt threatened.
Anyway todays list:
1) Take DD shopping
2) Gardening
Dinner tonight is a spicy sausage risotto
Hope everyone has a lovely day xx0 -
I take it you don't like the gardening :rotfl:
I need to do ours but have no lawnmower atm as it blew up . DH said he asked a friend if we could borrow his (seeing as though he's always borrowing stuff from us) and they said yes but DH is at work all day so will probably have to wait until next weekend now
Have a good time shopping :beer:Emergency Fund goal - £1000/2000

Good morning
Hi DFW, you are right, I don't like gardening x
DH has had his payslip today and we are £18 per month better off with the tax code change. I was dreading it to be honest as he is a high rate tax payer and I was thinking we might end up losing money due to the thresholds been moved but we're fine. It will end up getting swallowed up with everyday bits and pieces but at least its an increase.
I had to order DD some new dance ballet shoes this week as hers are too small and have a hole in them and now her dance outfit is looking small. Hopefully we'll get this term out of it and I'll buy her a new one for September.
Where has the sunshine and warmth gone? I don't think summer is ever going to arrive!
I went grocery shopping yesterday and restocked the cupboards and fridge again as the fridge looked very sparse yesterday.
I've had to put petrol in my car this morning, hopefully it will now last a few weeks.
I had a lovely morning with DD on Saturday and we managed to get her a few bits for summer. I think she just needs a few plain t-shirts, shorts and a summer dress and she'll be all set.DS needs some new shorts and t-shirts so I'll maybe take him tomorrow as I've noticed that Debenhams are having a blue cross sale and I have some vouchers for Debenhams. If DD goes to her friends after school tomorrow I might collect DS from school and go straight there.
So the list for today
1) Washing
2) Quick tidy round
3) Blitz ut room and downstairs toilet
4) Ironing
Hope everyone has a lovely day xx0 -
Thanks for the update Choo!
Hope DD's outfit does fit a bit longer and all her clothes dont follow suit!
Its cold here today too, I had the window open a bit ago but now ive shut again as my poor feet were cold!!
Hope you find some bargains tomorrow at Debenhams xxMummytogirls x0 -
I've got to get DD clothes this summer! I should be grateful she didn't grow much last year though as she was in her summer clothes for 2 years running and they were all off ebay
so i suppose i can't complain! x Emergency Fund goal - £1000/2000

Good morning
DFW, thats some good use out of DD clothes, I've managed to get a couple of summers out of stuff for the last couple of years as well x
So onto today, the sun is out :j I did my pile of ironing last night whilst watching a tv series on Lovefilm. I managed to miss the entire 3 series so now I have them all to catch up on :j It doesn't feel like I'm wasting time watching tv whilst ironing.
DH has decided he would like a smart tv for the lounge as well as the family room so we'll maybe get one in the autumn.
DD is at her friends after school so DS and I will pop out and buy him some bits for summer. Hopefully there will be something he likes in Debenhams or if not it will be H&M.
The list for today
Clean the house
Wash all the hats, scarves and gloves
Wash the towels
Dinner tonight is a John Torode rescipe for fish pie, sugar snap peas and baby carrots.
Better go and do something, have a lovely day xxx0 -
hope you managed to find some nice things for DS.
Your tea sounds lovely.0 -
Good morning,
Thanks Pennywise, the fishpie was lovely. Its a bit faffy making the sauce but its not too bad if you freeze half for a later date x
Peace has resumed once again, DS has gone to school. What happened to my lovely boy? He accused me this morning of been moody, excuse me but I'm not the one shouting and carrying on!!!
Oh well only another few years of moodiness and hormones to go.
I've just booked a couple of nights away in London using DH train loyalty points for 1st class travel and a premier inn so it shouldn't be too expensive. I looked at show tickets last night  but they were £200 for all 4 of us and I just can't justify spending that amount of money. Its not a case of affordability its just justifying it as acceptable that I struggle with.
I'm going to see how many clubcard vouchers I have and use those for attraction tickets. I'll take a picnic for lunch on the first day and DH will have to lump it.
I have 3 loads of washing to peg out today so thats an evening of ironing for me tonight
I did my shopping at Aldi yesterday and spent £45 so I just need to pop to Mr S and pick up a few bits that I couldn't get.
I am finally getting through all my hair products but had to buy shampoo and conditioner yesterday as the one I was using wasn't suiting my hair. Old Choogirl would have bought shampoo from the hairdresser for £12 a bottle but not anymore especially when I see my hairdresser cavorting round on facebook spending on days out, weekends away, meals out etc :rotfl:
