It doesn't work like that! :rotfl:Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

O yeah i know it dont, nothing works in the sellers favour on ebay  im just annoyed at how he spoke to me there was no need for it,will see what response i get from ebay but im not holding my breathmildred1978 wrote: »It doesn't work like that! :rotfl:0 -
big game sellers have tried arguing with ebay about the condition explanations but nothing has changed.
It was acknowledged on the boards along with 'it won't change any time soon', having seen competitor's with feedback such as 'rubbish film' and personally getting customers complaining of the quality on DVDs containing archive footage or TV shows that are 40 years I've come to the conclusion that you can't please everyone and as my competitor's feedback are littered with 'out of stock', 'didn't arrive', 'no comms' and they still pick up plenty of sales I've come to the conclusion feedback really doesn't make that much difference to most buyers in this market. There are also TRS sellers seller counterfeit DVDs so feedback isn't an indication of a decent seller any way.
If they're claiming item not as described you're also responsible for the postage both ways. Sorry.
OP is responsible for postage both ways if the item is not as described, not if the buyer happens to think it. In this instance it's questionable due to eBay's wording but if a buyer swore at me rather than coming back with a reasoned argument my last reply would be that they'd be getting no further replies...In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
The only issue with it would be that if the item is not as described - and you could argue the lack of a seal means that it isn't as described unless OP had made a note in the listing - then a seller should really offer to pay for the return.mildred1978 wrote: »I didn't read your response as being at all polite.
I'm not sure you and eBay are a winning combination TBH.
Not surprised the buyer was annoyed if they feel they were misled. People spend money, it's not incumbent on them to be happy when they receive something other than what they expected; you might like to bear that in mind in future when responding to buyers with problems.

Even if it was your response that set them off? Even if they are legally entitled to a return and return postage and could follow that up with a small claim?
Sellers get so offended when buyers are rude but likewise buyers therefore also have a right to be offended when sellers are rude. So many people here seem to think that a seller can be as unpleasant as they like when they're at fault but if the buyer puts one foot outside an arbitrary idea of what good manners ought to be they don't deserve any other legal rights? Funny how it always happens when the seller would lose money by way of a buyer returning something..."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

TBH he got the game for a bargain £5 for an xbox360 game is hardly worth crying about when there is no seal, yes it wasnt totally as described but to swear at me over £5 is insane0

Mildred is right - your buyer bought something you didn't describe properly, whether intentional or not you should be seeking to put that right so the buyer doesn't have to swear at you to get what is due them.O yeah i know it dont, nothing works in the sellers favour on ebay  im just annoyed at how he spoke to me there was no need for it,will see what response i get from ebay but im not holding my breath
This is why eBay doesn't work in favour of sellers - because otherwise all sellers could do this with complete impunity and no-one would bother buying after the first time it happened. I can appreciate you don't like being sworn at but you have a legal problem here and you need to work on your attitude towards your buyers because this sort of arbitrary thinking will only lead to problems later on."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

so the buyer doesn't have to swear at you to get what is due them.
The buyer doesn't need to swear at anyone, sure OP could have offered the return postage as the buyer was unhappy and 'unopened' isn't the best choice of words for the description but that's no excuse for the buyer to talk to the OP in such a manner. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
He has stated he doesnt want to send it back thats upto him i offered a refund,i dont care how mad i am at a seller i dont swear at them, full stop! he got a bargain anyway so it can stay as it is,unless an apology comes from him which i doubt will happen.he's new to ebay suprisingly, says it all really
I have 100% feedback so i think my customers have always been happy just this idiot that clearly isnt0
