cp plus to pcs?
got a p c n . couple months ago. the first i knew about it was when i got a letter saying now gone from 30 to 60 and now demanding 100!. there was no pcn on my car as i would have phoned them that day and proberly would have paid as well. they said my appeal was rejected but didnt ask me for any evidence. they sent me pics of my car and the pcn. the property is hospital car park for staff who live on site but owned by the council who given these monkys the right to ticket people. they are nasty and recently ticket on a lady who paid for two hours parking, given another 2 hours grace as she was in emergency but she still got a ticket. the company knew she was in emergency and couldnt wait for the four hours ticket to expire.my point is how can they raise the money up from 30 to a 100 before i am made aware of it. i have asked for copy of the ticket and of the letters that were sent, however after reading the forum i cant help but think they should just type one up.what should i do as was bit worried about it being passed on to a debt collection agency which they mentioned in the one and only letter.regardswade
The word about the scammers is spreading like marmite here in the westcountry.

well the appeal was to parking collection services. Thing is though i didnt even know i was appealing to them as sent a few emails. i just got an email back stating my appeal was refused. didnt get a chance to talk, write give any evidence etc. The pcn was issued by cp plus. the first i knew about any pcn was when got a letter from collection services demanding 100 or debt collectors etc. there was no inbetween mail saying pay 60 now instead of 30. why i feel cheated is that i didnt get chance to pay 30 or 60, and that cp plus sold/gave it to collection services and i have learnt its the same company.am worried about getting further costs and the threat of court etc but i gen dont have a hundread pounds to spend. The word about the scammers is spreading like marmite here in the westcountry.

Then don't spend it. Just ignore them from now on. One thing people should realise is that almost without exception appeals are not given, its certain that they don't even bother to read them, they just press a computer key and a standard response is sent out. As you contacted them its quite likely they have you on the worried waverers list so will get extra threatening letters. Just file them away in the bottom drawer and forget them. Come back for reassurance if you get really worried but in the mean time just get on with your life and don't let them worry you.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Wot peter_the_piper said. You haven't had a parking fine, so you DID NOT get a 'PCN' at all! This is a fake one plonked on the car in the hope you are stupid enough to pay.
You are now at the beginning of a mail scam, you (the registered keeper) will receive some more scary emails or letters (ooo-er!).
But panic not, the letters are part of the scam so just ignore them like you would if you got a series of phishing emails telling you that you'd won the Nigerian Lottery and just had to supply your Bank details to collect your winnings...
You must sit down and read a few more important threads. You need to see the Watchdog paper aeroplane excerpt which is linked in a sticky (permanent info) thread near the top of the forum thread list:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163
It's an absolute must-see for people who actually think a Private parking fake ticket is a real one. The Watchdog link (featuring an expert solicitor called Tim Cary) is on the sticky thread near the top of that list called 'WELCOME, please read before posting'!!!!
Then look at the sticky thread called 'PPC letters, what to expect' and make sure that the registered keeper of the car is ready to play a fun game of snap with each matching letter as it arrives. CP Plus fake PCNs are on there - and then if you look at the entries listed under other companies, you can get a preview of the letters that PCS send out.
Yes the scary letters do look sort of 'official' and will be on debt collector and maybe 'let's pretend we are a solicitor' headed notepaper. This is part of the scam, so nowt to worry about and there is NO DEBT anyway so you can see you are on safe ground.
You will not go to Court, no-one will come knocking, no bailiff will call.
Nothing about ignoring this con will affect your credit rating, just keep ignoring. Next time just laugh if ever your car collects a piece of unwanted rubbish called a parking charge notice (a real PCN is a penalty charge notice).
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

what worries me is that when i asked for photo evidence they sent pics of my car with the pcn on the front window screen, also that it is council land, but monitored by cp plus. i have asked for a copy of the ticket and they have not replied to that one. thanks for helps

I very much doubt it is council land and if it was, why don't the council manage it because they do have the power to give you a PCN!
As everyone has said, stop worrying, keep your money in your pocket and ignore them. As peter has posted, they will come after you more because you have acknowledged them so therefore you just need to stay strong.
Don't pay the cowboys speculative invoice, you owe them nothing at and they are just scamming you!0 -

Isn't digital technology great... you can get a digital camera for so little money these days... in fact, Apple put one on my phone for free (well, not really, but you know what I mean). In fact, if you scammed one person out of a £100 you could buy maybe four cheap digital cameras and then set about conning lots and lots more people out of £100 and make a small fortune... oh, wait!

ok thanks for your comments. regarding council land i am assured that it is. the council used to do the tickets three years ago but they passed it on to cp plus. need to get a copy of the pcn from them so wait and see what they can produce. How would i know though if they just dont do another one at there base and copy it for me?. Yes worried like most peeps on here with there first pcn. but defo council land and my hospital accomadation is on it.
whats most anoying is that i pay 150 a year to park where i live on the hospital grounds yet if i lived in a house on the street opposite it would cost me 10 a year to get a residents permit. conned or what. am looking into seeing if i can get a local to say the car is theres and pay them 30 for a year.

Sounds ropey when you say it wasnt there, the wind blew it of etc or passerby took it.
and lol as being stupid i have been known to be very!
wait for my next letters
lastly for moment i do have the right to ask for a copy dont i? and as its council land can i appeal through them?
regards

Right STOP right there!
Take the advice given... DO NOT SPEAK OR ENGAGE WITH CP PLUS!
They are a private parking company and it is clear they have been engaged by somebody (and I doubt it is the council) but either way it does not change anything. They have no power to fine you, they are not fining you or issuing you with a penalty... they have sent you an invoice, nothing more, nothing less. The only people that can legally issue you with a penalty are a local authority or the Police... CP Plus are neither and don't have any power.
If you are really worried about the land ownership issue maybe have a word with the council estates department. You don't have to say who you are, and make some enquiries about the car park and who owns and controls it. I suspect it is probably your hospital trust who own the land and as many poster on here know, hospitals are not above engaging these cowboys to 'manage' car parking for them!0 -

If they send you your PCN, which I doubt they ever will, it will say Parking Charge Notice at the top and will probably be exactly like this one you can find here - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803
However, Parking Charge Notice is not a Penalty Charge Notice, which are issued by a council or the Police. They just use exactly the same TLA (that is three letter abbreviation) to fool you into thinking it is something it is not... can you see now why they are scamming you!!!
Stop worrying, relax and ignore them!0
