Am I able to move the £1,000 into a halifax online saver. then for the next month put it back into the reward current account and still get the £5??

Yes, my £1000 sits in my Websaver Reward most of the time. I used to send it round 6 Reward accounts held by family members by standing orders with a day between each move, but with the change to the Lloyds system I will now be doing it manually and the money will go from account to account and back to the websaver in a matter of minutes.

I have a standard current account with the Halifax (opened in 2005 - before they were doing the reward account I think), if I look online, they only 'upgrade' offer is to the Ultimate Reward account, which I don't want. Does anyone know if I can still open a Reward account?

Yes you can open a Reward account in addition or you can phone them and ask for your existing account to be converted to a Reward account.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know if Halifax still offer their rewards credit card? I have a rewards current account with a Clarity all-in-one card but wanted to upgrade the card. I can't see any reference to it on the website.

There isn't a Rewards credit card, or a Clarity all in one card. There is a Reward Clarity card, and an All In One card, both separate products. I got the Reward Clarity card automatically when I applied online for the normal Clarity card as I have a current account with them.
Debt free and staying that way!

Sorry, that was me confusing myself! I have the All-In-One card, but I can't see any reference to the Rewards/Clarity card on the Halifax website anymore.

I have a Halifax Reward account and have been a customer for a long time. Recently, they've started offering my a second current account every time I log in "to help me manage my money better". I can't see the point of having two current accounts, but it would mean two rewards each month.

Are there any downsides? Would it adversely affect my credit rating to have two current accounts?
