I'm sure I've read someone saying that HBOS has moved onto the Lloyds system where Sat, Sun and Mon are treated as the one day. I suspect that the £5 will arrive on Tuesday as that is the 2nd working day of the month, and be backdated to the 3rd.
The Reward payments have always been posted at the end of the first working day of the month.

Previously, under HBoS systems, this was sometime during the night. Now that they're under LTSB systems I expect the payments to show shortly after 10pm tonight. It remains to be seen whether they're backdated to the 1st of the month, as they were under the HBoS system.

    Not always ...
I once had the £5 Reward payment about a week late.
I expected it to be re-dated to the 1st but it never was.
I didn't bother to query it - it's not as though I'm losing any interest as a result - but it did leave a nagging doubt about how reliable and automatic Halifax's systems were ...

Can the Halifax Reward current account (or any Halifax account) be operated via BoS online banking (and vice versa) or do you get separate log ins for both banks?

    Same login for both.

I was originally a BoS savings customer, but now only have Halifax accounts and use the same login.

I thought that is what I read previously but when I emailled Hfx asking this they said you get separate log ins! Its not the first time I have been told something incorrect by a customer service rep.

There seems to be a lot of confusion at Halifax right now about a lot of things!

My OH had a letter regarding a maturing Children's regular saver, the letter said it matured on the 2nd (which is correct) but as that was a Sunday, the account would change to a Young Saver on the 3rd, and the money be available then. When he opened it he was told it would go into the child's Save4It account which already existed.

So off we went to the bank today, where we were told it didn't mature till the 4th according to what they could see on their system. On ringing somewhere, the teller was informed that it actually matures on the 3rd, but that it couldn't go anywhere as no account had been opened to transfer it to. We pointed out that the child already had a Save4It account.

So this person promised to sort it immediately and ring back with confirmation within the hour.......which didn't happen.

This evening OH rang up to see what is going on, but apparently nobody can tell him. It can only be sorted by a branch. But we don't have a Halifax branch any more, as all the branches in Scotland are now Bank of Scotland only, and claim they can only do simple operations on Halifax accounts.

I feel like we are going in circles! Going to the BOS branch tomorrow to tell them they are supposed to sort it!!

And to make it even worse, we may well have to go through all this again as no.2 grandchild's account is due to mature on the 4th, despite the fact both accounts were opened on the same day originally.
