• yeah getting a little gobby cow too :p

Haha! Mine son is not too bad. If I were you. Call them and ask for a contactless card. Just tell them to look it up as it says it on their notes that it only excluded basic account. Includes all the others etc. Including under 19s.

I will do tomorrow. Just need to find some black tape to cover over the number hehe

You could always use paint to cover up the card number with black, it will be much easier without leaving any residue (and probably pulling the silver) off the card.

Thats a good point. I'll see if I can find a mac equivalent. If not I'll just cut out pieces of paper and rest them on the numbers

Just open it in preview, then select what you want to remove and press the backsapce/delete key.
Always works for me.
• Or go onto the lloyds tsb site and view the card here: http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_accounts/classic_and_classic_plus_accounts.asp. The standard classic account card is green.

Only difference being the new card now has the paywave logo printed on it which looks like this http://www.novartisfcu.org/Contactless%20indicator.jpg

I don't know why but Orange Cash prepaid card offer it, and I beleive that is available to 13 year olds. So it is either not that risky, or Barclays who run the cards are willing to take the hit. Have you ever heard of a contactless transaction simply being declined??? As oppossed to, the customer being asked to enter their PIN also.
• As you say contactless is available to 13 year olds, so this account is aimed at 16-18 year olds I'm not surprised that Lloyds TSB offer them now.

I don't even believe any new cards issued by them will not have it.

Just to update everyone, it took me 3 calls with the first two saying I was ineligible for a contactless card. However the third time I called it was confirmed that I am eligble and that it's being sent to me within 5 working days.

I'm currently 17 and have an under 19's account. If people are really interested I will take a picture and blank out the relevant information :P
