  • My other half and I did stocking for the first time last year and Im looking forward to them again this year, have already started looking at what im going to put in his this year. Last years had sweets, chocolates, cheap CD, cheap DVD, iTunes voucher and other small comical things such and novelty toilet roll etc.

So far this year all i've got for him is some sweets that were in the sale. I'll probably add some boxers and socks to this years...... infact might have a look online now see what I can get!
Time to get things sorted once and for all......

Do you mean on another website, or do you mean the vouchers forum within the moneysavingexpert website? I've tried the latter and can't locate it. But I think you can post voucher codes fyi.

    You want this post.

As far as I know, codes and dicounts etc can only be posted on that board in these forums, any posts anywhere else will be moved/deleted but you can link to a post on that board (as above). Hope that makes sense to someone other than me lol :rotfl:

For those wanting socks, boxers etc for stockings there are lots reduced in the Debenhams sale and there is a 10% off code and free delivery code on the Vouchers board. Just got some myself.
  • got a few bits from craftycrocs, great service, price and items, so thanks for the tip!
  • Thanks for all the ideas, I stopped doing stockings for my DS and DD last year(they're 19 and 22) but I really missed doing them! So I'm giving them a stocking again this year, plus DDs boyfriend.......

Also for the first time ever I'm doing a table present to open with Christmas dinner. DDs boyfriend's family have table presents and I thought it was a lovely idea. I bought Union Jack mugs in Sainsburys last week (1/2 price at £1.25, they still had them yesterday) and I'll fill them with sweets, and a scratchcard.

I do party bags for a family dinner we have on Christmas eve... love getting silly things... some are duplicated but I put about 5 things in each and everyone takes turns to open, so you see what everyone gets. I use the money I used to spend on expensive crackers and this is more fun.
  • We do them for anyone staying in our house on Christmas Eve, and generally in them there's fruit in the toe, some chocolate/sweets, maybe a cheap paperback, socks, bath stuff, car stuff if appropriate, random little knick knacks from Hawkins, a few little jokey things (like one year when my sister was about 13 she was pestering for a mobile phone, in her stocking she had a plastic phone filled with sweets. Didn't go down too well but was hilarious, lol) and jewellery maybe. Oh, and it's traditional that everyone gets a scratch card and any of them win, the winnings get shared out :p

All little things though. Would never dream of spending over £3 on a stocking filler :o
